As I see the signs that r******w LEAVING WEST VIRGINIA" and "WELCOME TO PENNSYLVANIA" I feel excitement form in my belly. I'm on my way to a bright new future...and then the rain started. "Well this puts a damper on my mood" I sighed at the thought of having to pull over due to my bald tires. I can't stop now I'm only a few hours away from my first stop. I'm on my way to the northern part of Pennsylvania, Beth said her sister lives up there and is expecting me to stop by and stay the night. Now I know what you're thinking shouldn't this eighteen year old girl be in school? You would be right, if i was raised as a normal girl but my foster parents thought it was to much of a hassle to transfer me from school to school so eventually I was just home schooled. Am I book smart? No not really, but I am street smart and i guess that's all that matters. I thought to myself "wow, I had a very abnormal life" which made me chuckle at myself. I pull over on the side of the road about forty five minutes away from Beth's sisters when I get a text message "I haven't heard from you, you're supposed to be at Anna's (my sister) house by now" I replied "had to pull over due to rain, about 45 mins from there" "should have changed your tires before you left!" I let out a sigh because I knew she was right but I was just so eager to get out on the road. "Man even when shes not here she is a pain when shes right" I replied back to her "I'll get there when the rain lets up, promise." I can just imagine the look on her face, those big brown eyes worried and pissed at me. It can't be helped i don't control the weather. I shrugged at my phone and threw it in the passenger seat, looked out the window and seen lightning in the distance. "well i guess I should get moving or I'll end up sitting here all night" I sighed and put my car in drive, looking out the mirror for any on coming traffic when I seen it was clear I started pulling back onto the road. . . . " HOLY...." Slamming on my breaks trying to stop my car. What I see out the windshield leaves me speechless, this massive pitch black wolf standing in the middle of the road just staring at me. I feel strangely drawn to the wolf in a sense of security kind of way. Which confuses me to the core. I watch the wolf stand there staring at me for what feels like an eternity, but in reality it was only a few minutes. Before I knew it, with one giant stride the wolf jumped into the forest and was gone. I couldn't believe my eyes, I didn't think there were wolves this far up north but then again I had to remind myself that I was not book smart and that seemed like a thing you would learn in a normal school. I broke myself out of the trance like state the wolf put me under and continued to drive forward. I was close to Anna's address when I realized the time "Holy hell, it's almost midnight" I said with a sigh "I don't want to disturb her this late at night. Guess I'll just sleep in my car" When I pulled into her drive way it was almost twelve thirty so i switched my headlights off and climbed in the back seat, pulled out a blanket from my trunk and a pillow along with a book to read before bed. I turned the heat on for a little while before shutting my car off, turned the little book lamp on and clipped it to the next few pages of the book. Before I fell asleep. . . . I'm sitting beside a beautiful crystal clear waterfall dipping my exposed toes in the water, the wind gently moving my hair across my back and making the forest that surrounds it gently sway to its rhythm. I hear someone talking "I'm so glad you came" in a deep dark voice brooding over my shoulder. When I turned around my vision was blocked by a black shadow figure. The wolf, the same wolf that was on the road. Its magnificent icy blue eyes baring down on the figure that stands in front of us. "MINE" The wolf growls to the figure The man gave a chuckle before moving as fast as lightning and turns up behind me, before i had a chance to make a move or sound the man had his hand holding my arms and his other hand grabbing the back of my hair to force my head back. I yelled in pain which seemed to anger the wolf. A loud roar came from the wolf and before it was able to complete its lunge at the man, the man leaned in and bit hard on my neck. The pain was excruciating and felt like fire under my skin, I couldn't move or breath. When he finally released my neck from his razor sharp teeth he said "beat me to her then" then vanished without a trace. I collapsed on the ground my vision slowly fading but not before the wolf stepped close to me only a few inches from my face. "My mate, I will protect you" I feel its cold nose rub against my cheek as to comfort me. "I will find you first I promise" Then my eyes fluttered closed. . . . I woke up to a knocking on my car window. I jump up startled from the dream, I look over to find a woman standing by my car waving brimming with excitement. Her face is round and she has shoulder length golden blonde hair which matches her equally as golden eyes that is giving me lots of bright red flags telling me to drive away as fast as I can. I can't help but think I've gotten the wrong address because the woman in front of me looks nothing like Beth. Beth has a face that belongs on a super model, long black hair that's always pulled up and big welcoming brown eyes that make me feel at home. I hesitantly rolled my window down to talk to this strange woman that was so eager to talk to me. "I'm sorry, I was told this address belonged to Anna McCoy. I was supposed to arrive yesterday but got caught in a storm." I said in the most apologetic voice I could. "Oh. You must be Blue, Beth told me so much about you dear, but why on earth are you sleeping in your car?" "Well you see I got here after midnight and I didn't want to wake anyone" "Oh no dear, my home is your home you are welcome anytime day or night" she said with a smile on her face, I can't tell whether it was pity or genuine. "please come in we are getting in the cold months now. Poor dear could have froze out here." She guides me into the old Victorian house covered in greenery and beautifully placed rose bushes, helping with my garbage bag of clothes that I insisted on because Beth has done more then enough for me already. She leads me upstairs and into a equally magnificent room fitted with its own fire place large king size bed and a enormous bathroom attached. "Are you sure you brought me to the right room" i asked with my mouth gaping open at the site of the room. "Yes dear, this will be your room for your stay now please don't rush, stay as long as you please. My sister thinks of you as a daughter so I think of you as a niece." "Beth thinks of me as a daughter" I asked a little baffled by the new information. "Yes dear, I'm surprised she never told you herself, but the poor girl works all the time I'm sure she just assumed you knew." I can't help but look down and reflect on everything Beth has done for me over the years. "thank you Beth" I whispered to myself. "Well I'll let you unpack, you should go into town when you're done and see all the shops and you must see the mall. Please enjoy your stay while your here, I have to go out myself for work but I'll be home tonight around nine o'clock. I'll leave a key for you on the table by the door be sure to take it with you" "I will" I gave her a smile as she walked out the room. Jeez she sure does send shivers down my spine I chuckle to myself, but shes nice enough to let me stay here. I guess I should enjoy the view while I'm here I definitely wont be staying long. Anna reminds me of the old witch from the old story Hansel and Gretel, I'll be sure not to end up anywhere near sweets or the kitchen during my stay. With that thought I laughed a little out loud at myself, I should get going before it gets any later . . . "You have arrived at your destination" says my trusty side kick GPS. I park my car in the mall parking lot which is packed to the brim.I looked up at the row number "row Z...Uhh it's going to take all day just to get to the mall entrance!" I start walking towards the building when I feel eyes on me, i cautiously look around to see if I spot anything weird. It didn't take long before my eyes were locked in a staring contest with a tall lean man with dark brown hair, wearing black jeans and a plaid button up with holes through it, leaning against a car surrounded by what I assume is his friends. They were all laughing and seemed to be having a good time, that is until they followed his gaze towards me. The man stood tall and started walking over towards me, my body was frozen in his stare. I just got here and I'm already starting trouble, my foster family was right trouble seems to follow me. "Hey!" the man yelled in my direction his voice sending shivers down my spine in a moment deja vue. Like I've herd that voice before...but where? "Yeah?" I tried to muster up the most confident 'yeah' I could trying to get out of my own head. He starts jogging over to me he is in full view i can see every detail. Those icy blue eyes I could just drown in, to his chiseled jawline that the gods themselves would envy. "I haven't seen you around here before. You new to town?" he asked not even slightly tired from the jog. "Um yeah I'm just passing through kinda like a detour more then anything" "Oh, well if you want to you can hang out with us, that is if you don't have anything better to do" he said shyly while rubbing the back of his neck. The other people in his group are giggling at his shaken fumble for words. He glares back at them and they all just look away a few even whistled. "I'm sorry I really don't want to intrude on you. You don't even know me, but thank you for your offer" I said while slowly walking away. "I'm Matt" He said while matching my pace. "Umm, I'm Blue" "That's a strange...B-BUT very unique name" his stumble for words makes me chuckle a little. "Yeah I get that alot." "So is that the name your parents gave you or are you just afraid to tell me your real name?" his words made me stop and think about the name my parents must have given me before giving me up. Then I thought they probably didn't name me at all, just put me on a door step and said good luck if they said anything at all. "Hello earth to Blue" I snap out of my thought to see Matt trying to get my attention by snapping his perfect fingers. "Hey you ok?" "Yeah, your question just made me think, that's all" I question if I really want to let this guy know me any further then what I've already told him but I'm drawn to him. His eyes make me feel safe like nothing can hurt me. "Oh yeah, so you are just scared to tell me your real name?" He asked with a quirky smile on his face. "No, not scared. I'd love to tell you my real name but I don't know it, in fact no one does so if you find out what it is let me know" I said while chuckling trying to make it a joke but deep down it saddens me. "Oh that's heavy. I'm sorry Blue I didn't mean to...you know" the pain in his eyes hurt me more then anything in my life ever has. I want to take all the pain away from him to see that breath taking smile I seen a few moments ago. "Oh no! Don't be sorry I like the name Blue I prefer it actually" My name coming out of his mouth was like sweet honey in warm tea, I wanted him to say it again and never stop. "So Blue, you wanna hang out with us while you're here?" "You know what I'd like that" I said without even thinking. So here I am in a mall parking lot surrounded by people I had just met and Matt. Who knew on my trip I'd actually make friends!
