Allison’s Point of View

I looked at Kat as she spoke to my new lecturer, she was really taken by him and I vowed I would make sure that she ends up with him.

I watch her as she plays with her fingers whenever she wants something but just wait for that moment, she can have it.

He hands her his business card and I smile at myself knowing my sister the way she is, she will not call him. He is wasting his time right now and he does not see it. I smile at myself as I watch her drive away.

I see my lecturer approaching where I was standing and I sigh heavily before heading inside, I wanted to find out the kind of man he is before my sister gets involved with him.

I made my way inside the building to where I was having my first lesson, I wondered what it would be like at school. I rushed as fast as I could and found the class was open. I quickly got in to find myself a seat.

“Hi, is there someone on that seat?” a guy questioned me as I looked up to see who it was. I swallow hard as I look at him. I cannot help but admire his eyes and face. He raises his eyebrows and oh my god he looks more handsome.

“uh…”

“Sorry, No… There’s…” I try to explain myself to him, but he just smiles and comes to sit next to me.

“Andre. Econ Major.” He says extending his hand as I take it.

“Allison… Psychology major” I say to him as he nodded his head. “Want to get into law school?” he questions me as I raise my eyebrows wondering how he knew that about me.

“Your books… one can easily tell,” He says to me as I chuckle softly nodding my head as I turn to focus on the topic. I cannot help but wonder what it will be like here.

After the first class, I quickly pack my things and grab my phone wanting to call Kate if at all she can send someone to pick me up. I did not want to use public transport.

“Leaving already?” Andre questions me before I could call Kate. I turn around smiling at him

“No. Wanting to call my sister” I truthfully say to him as she smiled at me

“You are close to your sister?” He asks as we start walking towards the car park.

“Yes, I am. She’s the only one I have.” I proudly say thinking of her and how she has taken care of me through the years. I really need to do something for her.

“I see. One can tell just from the way you smile when you talk about her.” He says and I smile briefly tacking some strand of my hair behind my ear

“You have a beautiful smile. You should smile more often” He says to me as I chuckled softly, I can feel my face turning red.

“Thank you. I will try” I say to him as I hold on tight.

“I should get going now. I have another class in 10 minutes. How about we meet after our classes?” he questions me. I look at him wondering if I wanted to see him again.

“Give me your phone.” He says giving me his hand so that I can pass my phone to him, I quickly hand him the phone and he takes it while smiling and he starts putting in his number. Soon his phone rings and he turns it out.

“I will text you once I am done,” He says to me as I give him an affirmative nod before heading to my second class. I could not believe that the first time at school and already I was moved by someone.

I made my way to my second class, halfway through the lesson I received a text from Andre.

“Do you still have my number?” the text read. I scoff looking at it carefully, is the guy alright in his head? I question myself inwardly as I quickly type something responding.

“Of course. Don’t usually delete numbers unless the person is a jerk which your aunt” I quickly typed the text sending It to him and I receive a shocked emoji.

“Am not? How could you make such a conclusion when you have not even taken time to know me?” he responds, and I send emojis back to him

“I just know,” I respond before focusing on class, if Kate saw what I am doing right now she would flip. She would be all over my face telling me how I should stay away from boys.

After class, I made my way out of class and took out my phone checking if Kate had responded to sending someone to pick me up.

“Are you really planning to be a lawyer?” Andre questions me startling me as I look at him sighing heavily.

“What are you,” I want to ask but end up just smiling at him,

“Yes, I want to be a lawyer and I will be a good one” I respond starting to walk towards the parking lot. I wanted to see if there was anyone I would recognize.

“Really? Spend two hours with me and you are already saying I am not a jerk? Really” He questions me as I nod my head trying to call Kate, but her number is busy

“I don’t need to spend so much time with you to know. If you have met jerks a lot in life you can easily figure one” I responded with a smile as I tried to call Kate again. I had to get home fast because I had to start studying.

“Who are you calling?” he asks me as I try again

“My sister but her number is engaged. I need to-.” I want to explain to him but change my mind in case he thinks I am just some spoilt brat.

“Where’s home? I can drop you off?” He questions as I shake my head. I cannot go with someone I do not know home unless if I trust him.

“Well, I can’t my sister wouldn’t approve of something like that” I explain to him as he nods his head.

“Whoa! Katelyn Adams? I cannot believe my eyes” he says as I turn around looking behind me to see Kate chatting on the phone.

“You know her?” I question him as she walks towards the Administration Building.

“Oh Yes. Youngest CEO in the Auto industry. She is having led the company in succession more than any female CEO has ever done in the industry. Talk about the cars they are planning to manufacture in the next five years? She’s super-rich” He said to me about my own sister as if I didn’t know that already, after all, I know how hard she works at the expense of her family.

“I should go and say Hi>,” He says as I lower my head, I cannot believe he adores Katelyn like that, yet he could not recognize me.

“Yes, you should say hi. I am sure she will be delighted to meet someone who idolizes her as that” I commented before calling her phone again. I watch her take the phone and quickly picks up the phone.

“Hey Ally, where are you?>” she questions as I smile at myself looking at her looking around like some lost person.

“I am here on your right. You look awkward looking around like that” I reply through the phone as Andre turns to look at me then Katelyn.

“Wait! Katelyn is….” He turns to me then Katelyn he widens his eyes at me as I fake a smile at him nodding my head.

“Hey, you! How was class?” She greets me coming over and hugging me as I look at Andre who cannot seem to believe that Katelyn is my sister.

“Hello,” She greets Andre who is completely frozen as she smiles at me and raises her eyebrows as I giggle.

“Kat meet Andre. He’s a huge fan of yours and would love to take a picture with you” I mention to her as she smiles turning to him.

“Nice to meet you, Andre. I did not know that I have fans” She mentions to him as he nods his head looking at me than Kate.

He moves closer to Katelyn who poses nicely for a picture with her arm wrapped around his shoulder. I take out my phone as I take the picture smiling at them.

“I will send it to you” I mention to Andre who just nods his head as he looks at me.

“We should get going. It was nice meeting you Andre” She says to Andre who nods his head as she walks away going back to the car.

“What happened? Cat got your tongue?” I tease him as I walk past him still in shock.

“I didn’t know that Katelyn was your sister. Why didn’t you…” He questions me but quickly keeps quiet looking at his phone.

“Well, I thought you should get to know someone first before concluding them. I will talk to you later; Kat can be a little impatient” I say to him as he nods his head and I rush to the car which Kate is pulling out of her parking spot.

We drive past Andre who weakly waves at me and Kate.

“Andre looks like a cool guy” Kat starts the conversation as she drives, I nod my head thinking about his disappointed look when he found out I was Kate’s sister.

“Why don’t you invite him over for dinner on Friday? I will cook for you two” She suggests as I chuckle.

“That’s great! You should also invite the Professor.” I say to her and she raises her eyebrows looking at me like I had just said the wrong thing.

“I saw you getting his business card. You really should call him back” I calmly say to her as she swallows hard looking ahead.

“I know after Joey; you don’t want to start getting involved with men, but I think it would be nice if you found someone,” I say to her and she just turns to me faking a smile.

“I will think of going on a date with him don’t worry okay?” She assures me but I know she will never call him; this was not the first time she has let go of someone she likes because of me.

I know she does this for me to set a good example for me, but I am growing up and soon I might start dating as well.

“What makes you think I am interested in your lecturer?” She questions me as I shrug my shoulders.

“Don’t know. Instincts?” I respond and she smiles at me shaking her head. Of course, she is interested in him but does not want to admit it.

“So, are you going to call him?” I question her as she pulls over in the company’s parking lot, but she does not respond rather continues with her driving.

“I know you don’t want to admit it, but I know you feel the same way about him. IF you want, I can try and find out more details about him?” I question her as she sighs heavily turning to me.

“Ally. Please just drop it. I have never been interested in men and certainly won't start now.” She snaps at me as I lower my head.

This was all my fault.

If only I had matured fast and did not act as if  I needed her every time maybe by now she could have found a man for herself. “I am sorry. I didn't mean to make you angry” I apologize to her and she exhales heavily taking my hand in hers.

“I am sorry I snapped at you. I am not angry but it’s a bit complicated for me.” She explains to me as I keep quiet,

“But why don’t you tell me about that guy back there? Is he a new friend to you?” she questioned me as I smiled briefly nodding my head.

I did not want to talk about my relationships with her if she could not tell me about hers.
