Myra was sound asleep on her queen-size bed when Shweta entered and discovered her still sleeping. She opened the curtains and sunlight directly fell on Myra's face, making her groan in frustration. "Wakeup doll," she said softly, sitting beside her. She placed her head on her lap and hugged her waist. "No, I want to sleep more," she mumbled in sleep and pressed her face against her belly, hugging her like a baby. "It's already 12.pm, doll wakeup," Shweta said softly, and she nodded in agreement. "Wakeup Myra Today, guests are coming for lunch, "she said, and Myra opened her eyes and looked at her. "Guest who?" Myra asked, rubbing her eyes. "Your in-laws," her eyes widened as she heard Shweta's response. "What for?" she asked hastily. "They are here in Los Angeles for some work. That's why we invited them for lunch," Shweta replied. "Why mom, why?" she made a crying face. "Myra You must accept the fact that you are shackled to him."Myra's anger rose. "Bounded with him, wow mom, wow," she exclaimed, "just because my so-called husband's great grandfather was dying, you pushed your daughter into hell and bound her with marriage, huh?"She shouted. "What was my age, mom, at that time, huh? I was 4!! Shweta looked down as she cried out, "Why mom, why?" "And if you think that I am interested in meeting my so-called in-laws and my husband, then you are so f*****g wrong," she said coldly, and went inside the restroom. She took a nice shower, changed her outfit, and did a minimal amount of makeup. She descended the stairs to find three unknown faces sitting on the couch. Myra's pov "Omg bhabhi (sister-in-law)" I was shocked and just rooted in my place. Mom claimed I wanted to flee here. I forced a smile and walked towards them. I have to pretend that I am happy. I can't disappoint my parents. Yes, I am angry at them, but I do care for them. "Hello aunty, hello uncle." I wished they would plaster a fake smile on my face. "Myra, you have grown up into a beautiful woman," Aunty said, lovingly caressing my cheek. I hope Aunty's son is not a chimp. "Thank you, Aunty" Myra You have to act like a good girl. I was so hungry, but to be honest, I lost my appetite. "You are so pretty, bhabhi," said the girl. This bhabhi thing is so vexing. "Hii, I am Diya Kapoor," she said, extending her hand. "Hi, I am Myra." I shook hands with her. "So, Myra, which college are you in?" inquired my uncle, who is also my sasurji (father-in-law). I responded with a smile... of course, it's a phoney smile. "Which stream?" He asked Who are you? An interviewer!! My mind screamed "Mind your own business," I murmured. "Huhh what?" he asked. "Business study I replied with a tight-lipped smile.. and he nodded.. "Myra Go and show Diya the whole mansion, "mom said I nodded and stood up with her. I showed her the whole mansion and at last took her to my room. "Your room is so beautiful, bhabhi." Why bhabhi, why ??? "Thank you, Diya" I smiled, not a fake one this time. She is really cute. "Sit na," I said, and she sat on the bed, with me next to her. "So which class do you belong in?" I asked her. "I just completed my 12th; now it's time for college," she replied with a sigh, and I nodded. Mom sent snacks for us in the room, and we started eating them while talking about some random things. She went to the restroom and I turned on my phone while sipping my mango shake. Just then, I heard a phone ringing. My travelled to the other phone, which was placed on the bed. It must be Diya's phone. "Diya, your phone is ringing," I shouted from outside. "Can you please check the name?" she shouted back. I picked her phone and saw the name that was flashing "bhai" "It's flashing bhai," I replied. "You can pick the call, bhabhi, it's your husband's call." My eyes widened and suddenly my hands started shivering. The phone stopped ringing and I sighed in relief. But then it began to ring again."Diya, please come out, your phone is ringing constantly," I said. "Please pick up the call, bhabhi, it may be something important," she said from inside.. I wanted to bang my head on the wall. Myra Reddy, control yourself You aren't scared, you are nervous. I am not nervous. Yes, I am not... I picked up the call and waited for him to say something. "Hello Diya?" Oh my God, my heartbeat... Myra, control... "Hello, Diya you there?" He asked once again, "His voice is husky I think I heard this voice somewhere... What the hell am I thinking? I cleared my throat, "ummm.. actually Diya is in the restroom," I said, controlling my erratic heartbeat.. "Who are you?" He asked. "My... Myra," I mumbled.I am getting nervous. Why, why, why? "Because you are talking with your patidev for the first time," my heart said, dancing to some crazy songs. I smirked. "Umm okayyy te..tell Diya that I can't come to..day in your home for lunch." he said, and I smirked. "Yes, he also stammered, which means he also got nervous." I want to dance... yayy "OK," I said as I hung up the phone and slid back into bed. to be continued.
