My stomach is in knots. I have Gavin's hand in a death grip. My first time flying. My first time away from home. And I am scared. It's been a week since my birthday. And my life has turned upside down. I really am trying to hold it together. I just want to cry. Scream. Hit something. But I don't do any of that. Instead, I reached out and raised the blind on the cabin window. I looked out and down. I catch glimpses of the ground below through the clouds. Wow. Just wow. It takes me a while to get to the point where I can think clearly. Looking around, I study the seating arrangement of the aircraft. Each side of the aisle has seating for twelve people.
