I check my wristwatch and cuss as I honk the car horn at no one in particular. It’s not like it’s any of the other people’s fault. They seem to be just as frustrated as I am. I should have set an alarm. But then I was kind of tired and just wanted to lay my head down on the bed that I forgot I was supposed to report for my first day today. I can’t tell what woke me up but when I did, it was a few minutes to seven in the morning and I knew there was no way I was going to get ready and leave the house on time and get there before eight in the morning. I have screwed up on my first day of a real job, and now I’m stuck here in this traffic that I have been stuck in for almost an hour with not much of a movement.
