Samarth was sitting in his chamber and drifted off in the past. Only one name was reverberating in his brain and that was Arohi... His childhood love and he dedicated his entire life to her. He was able to know the past of his parents just because of Dadi, who's used to tell him about everything. He leaned back and rested his head, closing his eyes, a smile erupted on his face remembering the sweet love story of his parents and then his own.
The story starts 32 years ago...
Ranvir Arora and Rajvir Goenka, two best friends. In simple language, 2 bodies with one soul. Ranvir's family is forcing him to marry a girl, They chose a girl for him, Anita. He was forcibly sent to Anita's house for a visit. Ranvir took the help of Rajvir and both decided to prank the girl, so the girl would break the marriage. They wanted to enjoy their bachelor life.
They went to the girl's village. The girl is on the way to college with her best friend, Mamta. Both girls are gorgeous, any man can fall for them. Both boys' mouths were flattened after looking at pretty girls. They decided that they will marry this girl respectively. But the problem was created later. Because Ranvir family has chosen Anita for him but he likes Mamta. It was a funny scene created that both friends have attractions oppositely.
Ranvir said Yes to marriage on the condition that Rajvir would also marry on the same day with her friend. The families met and fixed the marriage of Rajvir and Mamta. The engagement day and wedding day is finalized by both families.
On the engagement day, they learnt that brides are interchanged. The big drama was created. First of all both families denied but somehow they were convinced by the boys.
Finally, Engagement took place with both friends, "Rajvir engaged with Anita and Ranvir engaged with Mamta."
After marriage both friends decided to start a business, they came to Mumbai. They started with the small textile business, and after one year they started a big plant of Saree printing and dress materials. They earned enough money. So they brought Mamta and Anita to Mumbai. They were staying in the house on rent. Mumbai's rent amount was too high, and they are close friends, so they decided to stay in the same house for a few years.
After one year, Anita gave birth to a baby girl, they gave her name, "Sakshi".
More than two years passed, Anita was again pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy. They named him, "Samarth".
The problem is that Mamta and Ranvir didn't have any babies. They were taking treatment, visited so many temples, in hope of a child.
They were still living together, Anita and Mamta both taking care of Anita's babies.
After four years, they lost the hope of having a baby, so they adopted a baby girl from an orphanage home. After adoption procedures, they gave her name, "Anaya."
Sakshi, Samarth and Anaya were growing together. They became best friends and enjoying their childhood together.
During these periods of years, Both friends climbed touch of the success of the business. They started so many other businesses. They decided to live in different houses with mutual understanding. They bought two new houses in Mumbai in The Royal's Residency.
The time is passing so fast. One day Mamta filled some strange symptoms. She visited a doctor and they got a piece of good news that she was pregnant. It has happened after 14 years of their wedding. She was 35 years old and pregnant.
Both families were so happy. Anita didn't want to take any risk for Mamta. So both families again started living together. After completion of 9 months, Mamta gave birth to a baby girl.
Samarth was 10 years old at that time. But he saw the first time, a newly born baby in the hospital. He was impressed. He chose a name for baby girl, 'Arohi'. He was sent to music class by his parents, he learnt this name there, so he gave her the name 'Arohi'.
As they were living together, he spent more of his time playing Arohi. Anaya was 6 years at that time, she didn't like that Samarth spent more time with Arohi.
One day Mamta teased Samarth, "Beta, you were taking too much care of my Arohi, If you will do it continuously, I would plan the wedding of you both." Samarth smiled at that time. Mamta and others were not serious on this topic.
But Child mind of Samarth has decided that he will marry Arohi. At that time he was 10, so he knew that a boy and girl can marry. He didn't even know the meaning of marriage. Then Samarth frankly said that he will marry Arohi when they will grow up. This small teasing incident affected a lot on Samarth's mind.
Whenever he told that He will marry Arohi, both families didn't take it seriously. Time passed on, Day by Day, Samarth became possessive for Arohi, but the family didn't recognize changes in Samarth.
When Arohi was 5 years and Samarth was 15 years. One day Samarth went to a Jewellery shop with her mother. There he looked at a pair of gold chains, he insisted that he wanted these chains, Anita denied but he cried and forced Anita to buy two gold chains. She finally surrendered and purchased it for him.
There was a special car for him, with the driver, so he used to go to school by car. One day he stopped at the photo studio, he gave the chains there and gave two photos of Arohi and his to the photographer. The photographer laughed at him, but he thought he is kidding. Samarth glared at him so the photographer sat their photos in the heart pendants in the chains. Samarth made 2pairsr of this type of chain, one for him and the other for Arohi.
Well, Arohi is unaware of Samarth's feelings or crush, whatever. She is 5 years kid. There is no meaning of love or marriage for Arohi. But Samarth was doing this for Arohi's upcoming birthday.
But suddenly Samarth's grandfather passed away. They decided to go for "Shradhdh " (A pooja done by the family through the priest when someone from the family died).
They were rich families, at that time Rajvir constructed a farmhouse in Nasik. So they choose a place at Nasik, on the banks of the river Godavari. The farmhouse was nearby the banks of the river. Both families and some relatives went to the farmhouse. Samaira and Samir, also there with their parents. After all, Samarth's grandfather was also his grandfather.
Samaira and Anaya were best friends. So during these, kids were playing near the river.
As usual, Samarth was playing with Arohi. He was 15, so he understood more about the relationship. He knew about the age gap but he couldn't forget his feelings for Arohi. Now he became more sure for Arohi, he became possessive and protective for her.
This day was Arohi's birthday, 21st February. Samarth hanged the chain in Arohi's neck. She was a kid, she couldn't understand but for her, Samarth is everything and he could never harm her. Their bond was unbreakable. She smiled and accepted his gift. Samarth took too much care of Arohi, never misbehaved with her.
Someone called Samarth for Shradhdh ", as he was a grandson. He went to nearby his father, he placed Arohi with Mamta.
After Shradhdh, Samarth searched for Arohi, but he didn't find her anywhere. When Samarth shouted loudly, their family learned that Arohi was missing. Everyone was running here and there, but none found her, Rajvir found her small shoes at the bank of the river. So many swimmers jumped into the river, but all failed. Nobody found Arohi or her dead body.
Both families drifted in deep grief. Mamta cried a lot and became unconscious. She was admitted to the hospital. In this all, nobody knew about Samarth's mental situation. He locked himself in his room. He cried a lot. He didn't eat for a week. He fell sick and was admitted to the hospital.
After this, both families learned that Samarth was too much serious about Arohi.
After that Samarth is changed, he talks less with everyone. He became angry in a very small matter. Arohi left this world but she took away the happiness of Samarth.
Flashback ends...
Samarth's eyes were filled with tears, his trance was broken by the knock on the door. He brushed off his tears and asserted, "Come in."
