I stare at my mentor’s pale, motionless face, not knowing what to do. If I try to heal him … I don’t know if it’s going to work. We didn’t really get to the spell that’s supposed to heal organs just yet. And I’m not sure if the one that works for external wounds would help with whatever’s wrong with him. Swallowing nervously, I touch his neck, feeling around for his pulse again. I widen my eyes in horror when I realize it’s even fainter than it was before. If the nurse doesn’t get here soon, I’m going to lose him! “Kir,” I call him, shaking his shoulders in panic.
