Allie froze as Anna hit her, and it took her a long time to come back to her senses. When she looked up, everyone saw a clear red fingerprint on the left side of her face.
She trembled and covered her face, staring at Anna as if she couldn't believe that she would do that. She said, "How dare you hit me, Anna!"
"I slapped you for Dad! Dad is still in the operating room, for God’s sake! When Dad wakes up, I hope you’ll apologize to him."
Allie's heart thudded, and she bit her lower lip. She remembered that she had just gotten so angry that she had accidentally said that Dad was going to die.
