6 The Instant Boyfriend

Straightening her back and looking up, Anna met Wayne’s cold gaze. Then she turned her head to the side and complained secretly, What the heck?! How the hell did I bump into Wayne twice in the elevator? s**t! He must be thinking that I’m a shameless woman who would do anything to throw herself at him. But I’m not!
Then Lilian asked, “Anna, are you alright?”
Instead of answering her, Anna clenched her fists tightly. She thought, Do you enjoy the show, Lillian? You’ve been very sarcastic to me since we entered the elevator. No, I won’t give in to you so easily. You stole Harry from me! I must find a way to fight back. Speaking of boyfriend... I could let Wayne pretend to be my boyfriend for a minute. But what if he won’t cooperate with me? Ahhh... Screw it!
The next moment, Anna leaned onto Wayne’s shoulder. And she felt that he obviously tensed up. Then she said to Wayne coyly, “Honey, what a surprise! You must have been waiting in the elevator for a long time to surprise me, don’t you?”

Gabe, who was standing next to Wayne, flipped the documents and then said, “Mr. Wright, this is the speech for the celebrations…”
“Mr. Wright?” Lilian gasped. He's Wayne Wright!? I’ve heard a lot about him but I never have the chance to see him in person. Wayne is never a lascivious person. Some of his indiscreet business partners sent women to his bed, hoping that it would satisfy him. To their surprise, it only triggered his anger, making them end up losing everything. A few years earlier, Wayne suddenly had a son but he had never mentioned who the mother was. Some speculated that his son was born via a surrogate mother. Countless women wanted to be his son’s stepmother but no one even managed to get close to him. But now…
The more Lilian thought about it, the angrier she felt. The moment the doors opened, she said as she pulled Harry out of the elevator, “Anna, you must come to my engagement party with Mr. Wright. Well, we have something urgent to deal with. We need to get going now. Bye!”
When the elevator doors closed, Anna heaved a sigh of relief.
Wayne rolled his eyes, “You dared to challenge me yesterday and now you cower in fear?”
Sensing Wayne’s domineering aura, Anna dared not move, with her back clinging to the wall and her hands clenching. Being so close to him, she could even feel his warm and alluring breath.
“You… Why are you so close to me? Ste... Step back!” Anna stammered and became flustered.
Wayne could feel her hands on his chest, which were soft and warm. Somehow, he had a hard-on. Who on earth are you? How did you manage to turn me on just like that woman whom I had s*x with five years ago? Wayne became upset because he did not like losing his composure. It was clear that this woman could cause him to lose his cool.
“Weren’t you closer to me the last time you flirted with me in the elevator? Today, you were playing the same trick, right?” Wayne leaned close to Anna and whispered in her ears, ignoring Gabe, who was still standing near them.
“Who… who flirted with you? I already said that it was an accident!”
“Then, is what just happened today an accident, too?”
“Or did you use me as a shield? Tell me, GIRLFRIEND,” Wayne asked, stressing the word, “girlfriend”. And he thought, Anna, I helped you out because you’re my employee and I won’t allow anyone to bully my employees. Don’t push your luck again and again!
Wayne then leaned towards her ear and whispered, “I hope that this is the last time you flirted with me. If you dare to do it again, I’ll fire you immediately.”
Meanwhile, Wayne’s stare sent a chill down Anna’s spine. After the elevator chimed and the doors opened, Wayne immediately turned to leave.
It wasn’t until then that Anna relaxed her tense body. She heaved a sigh of relief and thought to herself, I’m not flirting with you! Stop flattering yourself, okay?

As soon as Anna reached her department, her assistant, Vivian Welsh called her.
Noticing that Vivian appeared flustered, Anna asked, “What happened?”
“A child in the VIP suite on the 20th level is throwing a tantrum and refusing to eat. No one could stop him and now the room is in a mess. Our hotel will have to take the blame if anything happens to him.”
“A child is in the VIP suite alone? Did he just check in?”
Vivian nodded, “Sort of. He’s five and has a bad temper. No one could coax him. He is throwing a tantrum and trashing the room.”
“What? Where is his family? They are supposed to look after him!” Anna remarked and then ordered, “Let’s go.”
Vivian followed Anna and continued, “He has not eaten for a day and we’re afraid that something may go wrong.”
“It’s normal for a child to feel insecure when his parents are not around,” Anna said as she was waiting for the elevator, “What kind of parents would leave their kids alone at a hotel?”
Actually, the child is Mr. Wright’s son, Vivian thought and nodded stiffly.

Anna and Vivian heard something break along with the screams of the staff as they approached the room.
“Ms. Gabriel is here!” A staff member announced at the sight of Anna.
While others were still talking about how to handle the situation, Anna had already walked into the suite which was trashed. The seat cushions were on the ground and the juicer smashed. Broken lamps, spaghetti, broken plates, and trash were everywhere.
Anna gasped and wondered how a five-year-old boy could be so destructive. “Where’s the kid?” She asked.
A staff member pointed to the bedroom, “He is in the bedroom. What should we do?”
Anna frowned and asked, “Have you contacted his parents?”
“We have. But we couldn’t get through to them,” Someone replied.
“Forget it.” Anna rolled up her sleeves and ordered, “Tell the cooks to make some pancakes and chicken soup. And get this room cleaned.” Anna then walked through the mess towards the bedroom.
After that, the staff members started chatting.
“So you just let her go in?”
“Do you want to go instead of her?”
“No. Anyone who offends that little master would be fired. I don't wanna get myself fired!”
Anna slowly opened the door. In the room, the pillows and blanket were on the floor. And a small boy was sitting on the cold floor, as still as a statue.
“Hi…”
Anna greeted the boy, but the boy ignored her. Just as she managed to take a couple of steps forward, she saw something flying towards her.
