His Unexpected Queen

Reign's POV Everyone takes me as an asshole and I can be. I am usually the grumpy one of the group. I'm also now the only one who isn't married and doesn't have any children. The marriage part I can get on board with but the children no thanks. I have nieces and nephews and they are all I need. I want a woman that I can spoil and we can take trips and dinners and night outs and not have to worry about children. I'm selfish and I know it but it's what I want. I've been with plenty of women in my life and most have been a short-term thing. None have ever caught my attention enough that I want to stick around. The only girl I've ever fallen in love with I never even kissed or took on a date. I knew I could never have her because she belonged to my brother. When he faked his death and went to rehab, I was put in charge of taking care of her until he came back and when she found out she was pregnant it scared me. I wanted to protect her and the baby. It was the first time I had considered having kids but quickly changed my mind. I don't know how or why I fell in love with her but I did. I spent so much time with her that most people thought we were together but I had to keep those feelings at bay because I knew he would be back to take care of her. It broke my heart when he did come back and I had to step to the side but she never had a clue that I loved her and so it was easy for her to fall back into his arms like she should be. He never knew either. I tried to distance myself from them as well for a while but with the birth of my niece they became more family orientated and invited me over a lot and well he was my twin brother and I couldn't tell him no. Those feelings have mostly passed and I am nothing but happy for them and I am back to my bachelor ways. Jordan and I go out frequently together. We drink and find girls to hit on and possibly take home with us but lately that hasn't felt right and I need to focus on work more. I've been looking for Snow for a long time now and I had a feeling that he was Mason. It was just too much of coincidence. He disappeared at the same time that Dominic went to prison and Amaya disappeared and they thought that they had killed Ace and Berkley was taken by two men. One of them claimed they were Snow but other things have happened since that tells me he is still out there. I had a working relationship with Mason. He used to own a restaurant in town. I used to run guns and sell them and I would buy from him. He had a good product and sold them to me cheaply. My men were hit the same night that everything came crumbling down. I had three of them that were killed and two more that almost died. I stopped the trade after that night. There was too much stuff going on that night and it made me realize that there is more to life than what we do. The four of us all took over for our fathers. They ran a small gang like business. They ran the town when they were young and it expanded as they got older. Tate took over for his father running the drugs but when Ellie came back to town with his kid that he didn't know about he stopped. It took a while for him to see it but his father had been the one to run her out of town. Her mother had a drug problem and she didn't know that and her father was just scum and used her to get what he wanted, which was money. They tried to convince us that her mother was Snow but we know that wasn't true. Tate ended up killing his father and her father as well and her mother also died. They went through hell and I didn't know if Tate was going to recover and get Ellie back but he did and now they are married and have a son Weslee along with their daughter. He has been my best friend for years and still is but his priorities have changed with his wife and kids and I couldn't be happier for him. Now he just helps us run our hotel that the four of us own together. Ace is my twin brother and I was so sure that he was going to get himself killed before he got his life together. It took him almost dying to get sober. Our father never treated him like he did me. He was always mean to him and I tried to protect him as best as I could but he didn't help himself either. Father never wanted him. He wanted one son and that was it. Since I was born ten minutes before him, I was our fathers favorite but I hated the man. He didn't leave anything for Ace except some money but we wrote him into the business the second our father died. He ran our clubs. We had two of them. One that was open for a long time and another within the hotel but the night that Snow hit us so hard he blew up the one that was on the other side of town. He still runs the club at the hotel but since hiring a manager there he doesn't do a lot with it besides the books. He is also a part owner of the hotel and helps with random stuff. Dominic is the one of us who lost the most that night. He was arrested that night for money laundering. He was totally guilty. He had taken over for his father who ran some business that we all laundered our money through. When that collapsed, we had to step back from the illegal business, which honestly was for the best, but his now wife is the one who turned him into the police for it. He knew it instantly but the rest of us were in the dark. He went to prison for a year and refused to speak to any of us. He just needed time but part of his release is that he can't own any more businesses. He is still part owner in everything we just don't have his name on anything. He has an equal say and equal pay in everything. When he got out, he left and went straight to New York for a few months and he thought he was being sneaky when he came back with Amaya and Jake. He thought he had kept his secret hidden for years but we all suspected he was bi-s****l and we didn't care. He was our brother and we loved him no matter what. Him and Jake and Amaya all got married a few months ago and now have their adopted daughter and I've never seen him so happy. We know that Snow has been the one to target all of us. He has tried to do it separately and also as a group and he has had some success but has never been able to take us down completely. We don't know who he is for sure because the coward won't show his face. He pulls all the strings of his puppets and how he gets these puppets is beyond me. They have all ended up dead by our hands and one day he will too. He has become my mission. I will find him and I will kill him and maybe my brothers can all breathe a little easier and their families can have the freedom they deserve. I've tried tracking Mason online but it's like everything disappeared when he did. There is no record of his restaurant in town and no record of him. I've tried everything that I could but I'm running out of ideas. I don't want to involve Ace because he is so focused on his family and I don't want to put this on him. He is our go to tech guy. I closed my laptop and headed down to the gym that Ellie owns here at the hotel. I've been going there since she opened it and it was the best. I have started working out more and more and the results have been great. I'm stronger than I was and also the biggest out of all of us. Not that it matters but I liked the way I was starting to look. I swiped my key card and nodded at the new girl that Ellie had hired. I knew that she had met the girls at a bridal shop and Dominic thought she was helping Amaya's father who was also behind him going to prison. Dominic never got to ask him who he owed for him to make his daughter turn him in because she killed him. He was dying that day anyway but when she asked for a minute alone with him, she ended up just killing him with a knife we didn't know she had. I went straight to the back and changed into some workout clothes that I left down here in a locker and went back out there and got my warm up started with some music blaring. This also let me release some of my stress and had become an addiction. Two hours later I was completely drenched in sweat and ready for a shower. I was supposed to meet Jordan soon. He was Jakes brother and that man was scary as f**k when he needed to. He used to be in the service with Jake and they worked on some secret service and they did some questionable things and turned him into a man who could torture someone to the brink of dying from fear. As soon as I got out of the shower and got dressed and walked through the gym Chloe spotted me and came over. I had to look her up and down. We had hooked up several times. She was a good lay but not someone that I wanted around all the time. She was a gold digger and I spotted that a mile away but didn't mean I wouldn't sleep with her. "Hey baby, are you leaving?" she asked and I cringed at the nickname. I hated it but she always used it. "Yes, I'm not done with work, I just needed a break." "Oh, I was hoping maybe we could get out of here together. Go back to your place," she said and batted her eyelashes at me. I don't know why she thought she was going to go back to my place because she had never been there before. "Sorry I have work," I told her and then walked around her. I could hear her whine but I just ignored it and went straight to the front desk where Jordan was waiting for me. We walked in silence to the elevators but as soon as we stepped onto them, he turned to me. "This took me longer than I expected but one will be dead today and the other will wish he was dead." "Does Dominic know that you brought them here?" I asked him. Dominic had asked that Jordan find the two men that had paid Amaya's dad to be with her. It was nothing but rape plain and simple. One man had just raped her and left. He has some power and money and so we can't kill him because people would look for him but we will make sure that he knows he f****d up and the other man raped her and then drugged her and let other men do the same. She doesn't know that we know and she never will. She didn't even want anything to happen to them but Dominic wasn't going to let that happen so he asked Jordan to handle it and he wanted no part of it so he couldn't tell Amaya anything and Jordan asked for my help. "Nope and it's going to stay that way." he said and I hit the button on our elevator to the basement.
