Courtney I wake up to the smell of breakfast, which is strange since Ryder left hours ago to fix the water pipes at the bakery. I sit up and sniff the air, catching a whiff of bacon. Fearing that my daughter could be in the kitchen handling hot grease, I spring from the bed and shoot down the stairs. When I make it to the kitchen, I freeze in the doorway.
