We meet again.

Sandy hurried through the staircase as she ran with her heels strapped to her feet and her short gown restricting her movement. If she didn’t hurry though, she was going to be late for an appointment with the new boutique she was supposed to be interviewed for the job of a modeling opportunity. To save her time, she paused and peel her shoes away from her feet. With the shoes in her hand and the ease she felt, she raced through the staircase with ease. It wasn’t her fault that she was late. After she encouraged herself the day before and returned home, she had continued the self pity party as she saw the notice on her door that her rent was due. Talk about when she was broke, financially, emotionally, physically. She didn’t know what else to do than to just lock herself up. It wasn’t until an hour before her appointment that she remembered. Oh, boy. The speed she used as she raced out of bed and prepared herself was something that should be set in Olympic records. By then, she was at the door of the room the interview would be taking place. She heaved loudly, examined herself to be sure nothing was out of place, and then she turned the door handle and let herself in. “I’m so sorry I’m late.” She quickly apologized. “Miss. Sandra Dawson? If that is you, then you are just right in time. Believe me when I say you came in at the perfect timing.” A voice told her. It was the voice of a woman and it sounded kind and gentle. “But why do you have your shoes in your hand?” A man asked with amusement. Sandy looked at the shoes with venom in her eyes. How had she forgotten to wear them back? She shook as she thought about how she was already giving them reasons to disqualify her even before she was tested. She lifted her head to apologize and she stopped dead. “Y-you?” She stammered out. “Wow! It really is the Disney princess!” The man chuckled, his voice loud and seducing. Sandy wished the ground could open up and swallow her whole. If she was right, the man and the woman were the ones that would be testing the applicants, which means her fate rested in their hands. Considering the kind of attitude and hospitality she showed the man in the past, she was afraid that nothing would stop him from throwing her out. Could the day get any worse than it already was? Matt? Thank you for screwing my life all around. She sent the silent appreciation to him. She chewed her lips as she tried to determine if she should apologize to the man or if she should kneel while doing the apologies. She was still contemplating her choices when the female voice with him brought her back to the world. “Shall we begin the test, Mr. Fernandez?” She asked the man. “Oh! For this one? There’s no need.” The man said in a dismissive tone. That’s it. I’m screwed, Sandy thought as she heard the response. She watched as the woman leaned to the man’s side. “You don’t like her? She’s actually the one with the highest recommendation from the firm she works with.” The woman mumbled but Sandy picked it up. She prayed in her heart that the man would consider that fact and give her a chance. When she saw him eyeing her, she gave him puppy eyes to show she was sorry for her action the other day he saved her from falling and she had walked away from him rudely. “I strongly believe they were… right about the recommendation.” His gaze was fixed firmly on Sandy as he spoke. “I’ve seen her cat walk while carrying herself with so much grace before and I’m sure she is the model we need.” He gave her a wink when she opened her mouth at his words. The woman beside him gave her a wide smile. “In that case, consider yourself one of the models that would be carrying out this job for Mr. Fernandez.” “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” She chanted with all the happiness she felt. She gave the man a grateful smile and made a mental note to thank him later. “Oh, right. You will be working with the fashion expert…” she trailed off as she tried to remember the name. She looked up in time and saw a man walking in. “Oh, there he is.” She pointed towards the door. Sandy whirled around to see who the woman was talking about and she came face to face with the one man she was not ready to see. “Matt Andrea?” Her shock and embarrassment was visible.
