“Did the phone logs come in?”
“I talked to the phone company this morning. They said we’d have a report by this afternoon.”
“We haven’t followed up on the information from Julie yet. Remember? The three-city rendezvous?”
“Then let’s get on that topic. I want to know what was going on between the two of them.”
We drove up to Bentwater, discussing how to approach the topic the whole way. When we got there, Susan greeted us at the door.
