The route they would need to travel out of Phoenix, Arizona primarily includes Interstate 10 even after they reach the California-Arizona border which is delineated by the Colorado river. But first they would have to traverse the five-lane freeway from Avondale to Goodyear and then on to Buckeye where it narrowed to two lanes and then to Tonopah and onwards until they passed Quartzsite in La Paz county.
