Zara made her way to Leif who was still unconscious on the bed. she had dried blood all over her so she decided to let him heal and wash everything off of her. she wanted to wash away the filth on her body. turning on the water she stepped in letting the steamy water cascade over her. relaxing her sore muscles that ached and screamed for relief. the past few weeks spread fast through her thoughts engulfing her in sorrow for her new found friends. even the joy she should have been able to feel in finding her chosen mate was over shadowed by grief. she was filled with sorrow for her friend. Avaly was a kind girl that had been through so much. she deserved a better outcome then the fated mate she was given. maybe with time her dragon and her heart could heal and she could fall in love with a chosen mate. someone who would love her for her and not the power she gave them. tears started streaming down her face as she lathered the shampoo into her hair and washed it down the drain. the flood of everything overwhelming her. she wanted Leif to wake up and for all of this to be behind them already. she wanted to be able to start her new found life, a life she never thought she would get.

Maybe even someday in her future she and Leif could start a family. it was somethig she never thought of before or allowed herself to dream of. she never realized how much not being granted a fated mate had taken from her. all her hopes and dreams were robbed. she was now given a second chance at a life. she allowed herself to dream. Maybe they all could have that. Alana, Avaly and herself. She knew Finn wanted to get home to his family and spend time that he has already lost. her heart constricted at the thought of him being away for so long from them. she could feel the pain of not knowing if your mate was coming home. Zara fell to the shower floor holding herself as the tears continued to come. she couldnt turn them off. they were both happy and sad. So many changes had happened in such a short amount of time. "Leif! " if it were up tp you all we would do is lay in bed all day. we still have things to do. come on." he was smirking at her words. she watched for a breif moment as he started to wash up. making her way out of the bathroom she pulled on her clothes quickly and threw her hair into a wet bun not even bothering to finish drying it. she wanted to get some rest before heading back to the Earth realm gates but before they left she kew they would need to establish Avaly as queen of ithica and the shifters of this realm. she needed to be given her birth right. she nestled into the bed and groaned as the comfort of the sheets gave her great pleasure. she felt the bed dip as Leif climbed in behind her. he pulled her body close to him wrapping his arms tightly around her. he burried his head into her neck taking in her scent.

"i can never get enough of you. even just laying here in my arms it is the most amazing feeling ever. thank you Zara."

she wiggled in his arms turning himself around to look into his eyes. "what are you thanking me for?"

"for givng me love again. gving me hope." Zara kissed his lips quickly before pulling back.

"maybe that was the plan after all. maybe this is what was supposed to happen we have saved each other." they closed their eyes letting sleep take over their exhausted bodies. Zara could feel her body relax as she was warmed by Leifs embrace. he was hers and she was his and they were finally going to be able to start a life together that neither thought they could. They saved each other. the moon goddess may not have fated them together but Zara knew this was the moon Goddess giving her the gift of love. she welcomed it and embraced it. she drew strength from the warmth it gave her. this was what she needed and wanted. it scared her to realize she could be so vulnerable and that this one person held her heart. her future was in his hands and as much as it teriffied her she knew she couldn't live without it. He was home.
