Nathan's POV
Panic surged through me like a tidal wave. My wolf howled, pacing frantically in my mind.
“Lisa, put it down,” I said, softening my voice to mask the fear constricting my chest. “Please.”
She laughed bitterly, her trembling lips unable to hide the pain. “Now you want to care? Now you listen?” A single tear rolled down her cheek. “You have no idea what it feels like to be treated like nothing. To scream for help and have no one care.” Her voice cracked, but the sharp edge of the broken bottle remained steady in her hand.
I raised my hands slowly, showing her I wouldn’t move closer. “I will deal with him, Lisa. I will make sure no one does it to you ever again.” My voice was steady, though my heart was racing. “You will no longer work in the site. Please don’t do this.”
