After the meeting, I said farewell to the alphas as they left, but then James walked into the room and handed me a phone.
“Alpha Cain wants to speak with you,” he said. I narrowed my eyes and took the phone.
“Hello, brother,” Cain greeted in his usual friendly manner. Ever since he helped me out of the woods, we’ve lived like brothers under one roof, with his family lying to people that I was his cousin.
“Cain, you didn’t come,” I said in a disappointed tone. I had wanted to see him.
