20: Ryann Ryann As the car raced along the track, Ryann pulled up data from the vehicle’s system, focusing on the sensors. She watched the chasing Couriers close in as the track straightened. The pilot triggered something. An alert pinged, and dust billowed in their car’s wake, thickening and hanging close to the ground. Soon, there was nothing to see but a black cloud behind them. Filters let Ryann see the Couriers enter the cloud. At the same time, sparks flared from the rear of their vehicle. Data said they were missiles, streaking into the cloud. The car lurched forward as the black cloud detonated. Orange expanded, became yellow, then white. The brightness cleared, along with the smoke. One of the Couriers lay in the dust, metal steaming.
