Maverick sat at the Council table. After the little show at breakfast, he was in no mood to listen to Jagson’s demands, but he knew he had to be present or the Alpha would hunt him down. He was also scheduled to have a visit with his Mother that evening and he couldn’t mess that up. He closed his eyes and let out breath. Not only was Jagson in rare form, but Torra hadn’t made it to her serving duties and he somehow ended up with Nova at his side. He was doubly surprised when she delivered the message from her Father. He would have to figure all of that out later, but at least he knew Dennis had made it to Mikel and their small number of troops were safe. There was only a couple of days left before Kya and Seth would return to report back to the King. They would be empty handed of course,
