Maverick walked the hall to the Alpha’s chambers. He knew what he would find as soon as the doors opened yet still found himself bracing. Almost every morning a new female would be laying destroyed on the cold stone floor, while Jagson was curled up in his bed. He took a deep breath inward as he nodded to the guards outside of the doors. Not bothering to knock he quickly swung them open. As he suspected, there in the middle of the floor lay the body of a she-wolf. He recognized her as a kitchen Omega, Jessa her name was. A small trail of blood still trickled from her bruised mouth. Her body covered in bites and marks, still bound in the ropes from the night before. He could tell her neck had been broken. It was a signature move of Jagson. He heard himself whisper a solemn prayer to the Moon Goddess, asking her to take the girl to the next realm where she could live peacefully and without fear. He mind linked one of the guards outside to come and remove the body. It would be hard to determine if she actually had any family. So many refugees in Droake that had ended up there as a result of Jagson’s tyranny. He crossed over the floor to the large bed where he found the Alpha sleeping. He cleared his throat. “Good Morning Alpha” he said loudly. Jagson didn’t budge. Rolling his eyes and stepping backward, Maverick tried again while shaking the man. “Good morning Alpha” he shouted. He moved back just in time as Jagson swung out at him.
“What is it Pup” he grunted. Maverick rolled his eyes again. “Breakfast will be ready soon Sir and I know how much you hate to miss it” he answered.
Jagson let out a low growl. “I will be there in a moment” Maverick just shook his head. “And don’t think I forgot. I want information on that dark haired kitchen girl” he snapped. Maverick felt himself shudder. Cora, he had hoped the King had let the idea go. Her connection to Nova was important to him. He cleared his throat. “Yes Alpha. I will have the details for you at breakfast” he replied. “And clean up this mess in my room. Get her out of here” Jagson demanded, motioning to the body on his floor. Maverick nodded his understanding. “Already working on that Alpha” he said. “Worthless w***e. Only lasted awhile before Cyclone finished her off” Jagson snipped. Stifling a sigh Maverick just looked at his Alpha. How could someone so heartless be in such a position of power he asked himself for the hundredth time. The Alpha held his gaze, almost as though he were reading his thoughts. “Do you have something to say to me Boy” he challenged. Maverick didn’t budge. “No Alpha, nothing more to say, I will see you at breakfast” he replied.
Jagson dismissed him with a wave of his hand. Maverick walked around the body of the dead girl, his heart breaking for her as he left the room. Just one more soul for him to seek vengeance for.
Jagson watched as his Beta left his chambers. He swung his cold gray eyes to the body on his floor. “Really Cylcone it would be nice to keep one longer then a few hours” he said to his wolf. Cyclone stretched his paws, idly licking them a smirk on his fur face. “Then bring me one that can handle the power behind this Alpha. Meek whores, those are the women you find” he retorted back.
Annoyed, Jagson slammed their communication shut and walked to his window. The sun was just coming up over the hills as he stood naked stretching. His mind wandered to the Omega. Cora her name was. The dark haired beauty with eyes the color of the far away sea. A body just become a woman with full breast and curves his hands ached to trace. And the onyx she possessed. He had to have her and that gem. She had no idea the power she could give him as a man and a wolf. Victory would be his, no matter who he had to destroy for it.
