The sentries called back and forth as he passed through the north gate. As soon as he got to the other side, a boy ran up to him.
"Ninsianna asked me to fetch you," the boy said.
"Is she in trouble?"
"No—" the boy glanced up at the sentries. "She just needs help to do something."
"Okay," he said. "Just let me put these down."
He laid the bundle of staffs against the wall and called up for the sentries to make sure they didn't get taken as firewood. He would speak to Behnam when he returned the sticks. Let the tribunal bring the matter to the Chief. It was not his place
