Chapter 3

1777 Words
DYLAN Prince Davis and I spend the next two days indoors, thinking about what our parents and Beta Austin advised us. Here we are, already twenty-one without someone we can call our mate. What are we supposed to do? We recently rejected a princess who could have made a better partner for us since we're in the same social status. Davis is lying on his bed at the furthest corner of the bedroom and he seems distant and deep in thoughts as well. I rise up from my bed and walk to his. I lower myself onto it and lie down next to him. Since he's facing the wall, he groans when he feels my presence and turns to face me. “For how long will this continue bro?” he asks me as he lies facing up, concern etched all over his face. “I've no idea bro but all I know is that we don't have an option. All we need to do is go out there and start looking for our mate!” “Do you think that that's the best idea?” Davis asks curiously. “I mean, how will we be able to sleep with one girl? Remember we don't share and....” “Forget the sharing part Davis. I'm sure we'll get a solution or maybe everything will fall into place automatically. Remember the moon goddess always gives solution to her loyal followers.” I try to convince him. “Do you think it'll be easy? Oh no! I'm confused!” he laments as he scratches his head.  Davis rises up and climbs out of bed and wears his shoes. I sit up too, wondering what he's up to. “I need to get some fresh air, that way, I'll be able to think better and maybe I can come up with a solution at the end of it all!” “Wait for me, I'm coming with you!” I say as I sit up as well then wear my shoes. The living room downstairs is deserted and we don't bother asking where our parents are since it's already noon and lunch won't be served until 2pm. We'll just go out there, think about our lives then come back here in time for lunch. I just hope that we'll be having a solution to our predicament by then! We walk past the living room and outside the palace. A guard who also acts as our driver is leaning against one of our cars waiting for us but he's surprised when we walk past him towards the gate. We won't be using a car today. We'll just trek as we think! He walks towards us, ready to accompany us on foot to wherever we're headed to but Davis dismisses him, informing him that we're not little boys to be followed around always. He tries to explain about the culture and rules of not stepping out unaccompanied but Davis growls at him, making him to recoil and step back. “Tell the Alpha and the Luna that we'll be back before lunch!” I tell him as he goes back. The guards at the gate opens the gate for us without saying anything and locks it immediately we're out. I'm sure they've seen and heard what Davis has told the other guard therefore they don't want to risk. After stepping outside the gate, we take a narrow path which acts as a shortcut to the pack square. All we're planning is to walk there and sit down as we get some fresh air and think as well. We meet several pack members who are walking around, either getting some fresh air or doing other businesses. They all regard us respectfully and we occasionally stop to say a word or two to them. We're finally here at the square, seated on a foam, each one of us silent and deep in thoughts. After what seems like eternity, Davis turns to face me. “I think I have an idea!” he squeals in joy. I pay attention to him, wondering what he has in mind. “Do you remember the girl we rejected two days ago?” he asks excitedly. “How can I forget princess Rosa of Blue moon pack?” I ask curiously. “She's famous and of all the rejected mates, she's the only princess we've ever rejected!” “We need to plan to go to their Pack and apologise then accept her as our mate. From there, we'll wait for goddesses's instructions.” “What if she accepts our rejection and rejects us back?” I ask, curiousity taking the better part of me. “She won't dare reject us. No one rejects the handsome Princes of Plainview pack!” “Says who?” a heavy voice growls behind us. It seems we have company! We all turn only to be met by the red and fiery eyes of Gerald, the Alpha of Blue moon pack who happens to be Rosa's elder brother. He succeeded over his parents throne a few years ago when he was eighteen. Right now he's almost twenty two but he's well built and he looks stronger than us. I know him perfectly well because he's famous for his prowess and skills in fighting rogues. He was a warrior c*m prince before he took over being the Alpha from his father. “Gerald, what a pleasure!” Davis says, fear written allover his eyes. “The pleasure is all mine my Princes....” he's grinning widely...he's up to no good! His two guards are standing behind him and we can see his car being parked a few metres away. How he managed to sneak upon us without our knowledge is still a mystery! Davis and I look at each other then we stand up, ready to leave. “We need to get going. Our parents must be waiting!” Davis manages to say. “Not so fast handsome Princes...not so fast! We have a lot to discuss. Just sit your pretty asses down here and listen to me!” he says softly and Davis and I exchange glances once again. “You have no right to order us around Alpha Gerald. We're Princes, soon to be Alphas and...” “....that makes us equal?” he scoffs, finishing the sentence for davis.” All this while, I don't say anything at all. It's like the cat got my tongue! “And you mateless brats have nothing against me, Alpha Gerald of the Blue Moon Pack!” he growls as his guards draw even closer but he stops them by waving his hands at them to stop. “What do you want from us Alpha?” I ask, trying as much as possible not to sound sarcastic. “Good question there prettier twin. And to think I thought you were dumb!” Oh goodness! He's so arrogant. “I say you both shout sit!” He growls in his Alpha voice, making us to sit back on the bench abruptly. “Good!” he exclaims. “That wasn't hard, was it?” he's clapping his hands as if he has won against us...not yet though! “Don't hurt us please.” I plead with him. “If this is all about rejecting your sister, we're ready to accept her as our mate. We...” “Shut up your stinking mouth, will you!” He scoffs at Davis, cutting him short. “Don't think that I don't know you're the mastermind behind all these rejections and stuff. You always seem to control your brother here and if you think I'll fall to your manipulation, you're so wrong! Spare that for your humble twin here!” What? So he already knows that Davis is the toughest among us? This man is something else! “Of course I do.” he turns to face me. “Oh yes...I can hear your thoughts and I've been avoiding to squeeze the daylights out of your brother here who has been cussing, cursing and insulting me all through since I showed up here. So you better warn your dear brother not try any other stupid thoughts else I'll kill someone today!” Gosh! This is more complicated than I thought! So apart from being a feared warrior, an Alpha, he can also hear what people are thinking? Oh no! This is too bad, especially for his Pack! “I've heard that too!” he grins at me. “Anyway, I'm not here to read your thoughts for you boys. All I want is for you two to pay for ever rejecting my sister. The other rejections might have passed without being noticed but this time round, you messed with the wrong people!” “We are sorry Alpha Gerald, please forgive us. We're ready to take Princess Rosa as our mate! Please don't harm us!” I plead with him but he doesn't seem moved at all. Davis is seated next to me, mouth agape as he watches in horror as Alpha Gerald reveals his powers to us. “Both of you must serve as a lesson to you and any other pack member who's planning to reject anyone's daughter.” He barks. “Justin, take them to the car and if any of them gives you trouble, just s***h him with your machette!” Goodness! What did we get ourselves into! I wish we came with our guards! “They wouldn't have helped at all!” he smiles. “Don't waste my time with your stupid thoughts. Stand up and walk to the car, now!” he commands, making us to spring to our feet. I try to mind link my dad to inform him that we're in trouble but Alpha Gerald's slap breaks the link. Oh no! “Don't you dare tell him anything! I'll call him when I'm done with you two!” The two guards lead us towards the car and as we approach it, I decide to do the unthinkable. I run past the car and since I know my way around here very well, I use all my strength to run and I'm glad when I look back and find out that no one is following me. They've already thrown Davis into the car and driven off towards the opposite direction! When I ensure that they're gone, I mind link my dad and I inform him everything since I didn't carry my phone with me. He instructs me to go back to the palace immediately as he plans on how to get my brother back.
