Charity is underrated

" Let me give you a ride home." Those words were words that Kade never thought he'd say to a female he wasn't planning on taking home for the night but somehow they came out of his mouth when he saw how shaken Grace was. Kade was like the Mafia in town, he didn't deal drugs or launder money but he was highly connected and wealthy, he owned several nightclubs and casinos across Boston, his connections also included drug lords and Mafias because they often held meetings and even conducted some trade in his establishments. At just 30 years of age, he had earned himself quite a reputation, people crossed the street to avoid him and nobody dared to question him, not even the government. He was quite popular among the ladies and they all yearned for his attention. At first, it bothered him that women threw themselves shamelessly at him at any chance they got, even to the point of leaving their partners for a chance with him but then he learned to take what he wanted from them and dump them though he never failed to leave them souvenirs in cash or jewellery. Women never failed to compliment his body, they loved his lean muscular frame, his height, the tattoos drawn from his neck to his back and across his two arms but most of all they loved his face, his cute face that made him look younger than his age and less intimidating if he wasn't frowning. Kade had piercing sea-green eyes which were as rare as it gets, a sharply pointed nose placed symmetrically between his eyes, well-defined jaw and the jackpot pink kissable lips. He was a complete beauty to behold and he had the stamina of a horse, it was no wonder women called him a stallion or should I say he's not so little other-self. He had just finished bending a woman over his car and was walking along the road to clear his head like he always did when he heard a woman crying for help, he hurried to the scene and was enraged to see a man choking the life out of a tiny woman, he would have beat the sh*t out of him if he hadn't noticed that the woman was no other than Grace Smith the town's newbie, he had heard that she had bought Megan's restaurant and was fixing it up, he had seen several pictures of her but it was nothing compared to the woman that was beneath him, she looked amazing even though she had just survived a life or death ordeal that had managed to expose her creamy thighs and ample chest, he was taken aback by the sight sprawled In front of him and the thugs took their chance and scurried away. The moment his hand touched hers, he felt the swell of heat gather low in his belly, she was a very sexy woman even though she looked older, not that he cared, Lord knows how many women he had been with and they were all of different ages starting from the age of consent anyway, age did very little to douse his desire for a woman. " Thank you good sir but I'll find my way." The words shattered his concentration and brought him back to the present. Was she kidding him, she had to be kidding right?, He looked at her and could not mistake the determination in her soft brown eyes, his expression softened and he compromised. " Fine, but let me walk you till you get a cab, I'll feel better knowing you're safe." " Alright, I can't thank you enough." She answered thankful for the fact that he didn't try to argue with her. As they made their way back to the road, people kept casting curious glances at them, but of course, they tore their eyes away when Kade turned to look at them, their faces shone with different emotions, from shock to surprise to fear and even jealousy. Grace was oblivious to all these glances, she just wanted to get home to her children, she was still shaken from the ordeal she had just gone through but she was strong, and she reminded herself of that, it had always been her mantra and she had a tiny tattoo that reminded her to always be strong on her hip though it was always covered. Kade tapped her slightly " The taxi is waiting." She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't notice the taxi stop, the slight tap on her shoulders sent a feeling of warmth throughout her body but she chided herself, she blamed on nervousness. " Thank you for everything Kade." She addressed him by his name and slid unceremoniously into the taxi. " Stop thanking me Grace, charity is underrated." He slammed the car's door shut. "Charity." She huffed, she would have given him a piece of her mind if the taxi hadn't started moving. She rubbed her neck nervously and took deep breaths, she clasped her face in her hands and burst into tears. She had been struggling not to cry because she had promised herself that she would never cry in front of a man again and she would always be strong. She tried to calm herself down by taking deep breaths, she wiped off her tears with her shirt and palmed her tattoo, it was like she was drawing strength from it. " How much is the fare?" She asked when the taxi pulled up in front of her house. " Oh, you don't have to worry about that," the taxi driver answered frowning slightly. " Mr Kade already took care of it." " Oh, thank you then, I guess." She gave him a confused look and turned to go inside, she made a mental note to find Kade's number in the phone book and repay him for his kind gestures. Then all of a sudden it struck her and she clenched her stomach violently fighting nausea, how had Kade known her name and what if he was a stalker, her mind flashed back to how he looked and red flags started clouding her vision, he looked dangerous.
