You know when you make a decision and know instantly that it was a mistake? Jayme and I made a huge mistake that day and that was to turn on the television later that evening after the boys left to fight the fire in an abandoned barn, and that was four days ago and the boys haven’t been home since they left. We would get messages here and there just letting us know they were okay, but that didn’t ease our worry. It was nerve-racking, listening to the string of fires that kept happening to the different abandoned buildings not only in our town, but the surrounding towns as well. Our station was helping out the others and asking for volunteers and when one fire was out, they would come back to the fire station to relax and then another one would start.
