JUNIPER “June!” Asher called, jogging down the hallway. I jumped to my feet, surprised to see Asher here. I didn’t have any missed calls or messages from him, saying he was done with his meeting with his father. Asher wrapped me in his arms the moment he reached me. He squeezed tighter and held me longer than normal. “How’s Nathan?” Axel stood up, hovering behind me. “He’ll be okay, they’re pretty sure. He has a broken arm and probably has some sort of concussion. They are still working on him, but they’ll let us see him when they’re done.” Asher placed his hand on my head and held me against his chest. His body was shaking, and I had a feeling it wasn’t just because of Nathan’s injuries. “Nathan is tough. I’m sure he’ll be fine,” Asher said. I looked up at Asher, trying to read his
