CHAPTER 16
AURORA“You’ve brought back an entire pack of hounds to my kingdom?” Hades asked me, staring out into the forest, where the hounds were gathered, not a single one of them aggressive anymore. He crossed his arms and rocked back on his heels. “You really did, didn’t you?”
I teetered back and forth on my feet. “Can they stay for the night?”
After a couple moments of silence, he nodded. “Yes, but we need to talk.”
Once I thanked him, I urged our pack to make the hounds as comfortable as they could be. Most of them were tendons and bones, but at least we could try to make their stay as welcoming as possible. I was sure Hella hadn’t done anything like this.
“I’ll be back,” I said to Ares, standing on my toes to kiss his cheek. “Please, help them.”
