Chapter 13Our trip to Detroit had been uneventful, especially for Mark who slept the night away comfortably stretched out on the row of seat at the back of the bus. The following day, the bus stopped every two hours when we had a chance to stretch our legs and grab something to eat at the local diners. As we were approaching the Detroit Greyhound station, Mark decided to call Fred. “Glad to hear you’ve made it,” Fred said when he heard Mark’s voice. “Yeah, but not without effort, I tell you.” Mark then proceeded to explain that we arrived in Detroit in a Greyhound bus in order to evade our pursuers.
