Chapter 7As Cindy had predicted, we arrived in Raleigh in time for supper. Sue was a very affable woman of undetermined age with a smooth face that reminded me of some of the nuns I had seen in the missions of West Africa. ‘Sister Sue’ met the four of us with open arms at the door of an old ranch-like house, invited us in, and directed us to the bathrooms where “you can wash-up before supper,” she said, as if talking to a bunch of kids coming to stay with her after a long trip. Mark was far too tired to argue, but he asked Aziz to check his bandages – the wound seemed to bother him a lot more after all that sitting in Cindy’s car.
