Chapter 15Benny answered at the second ring – finally. I was so happy to hear his voice that words came tumbling out of my mouth. “How are you? Why didn’t you answer the calls from Mark? Where is Khalid? Are you all right? How about Louis and Terry – are they okay?”
“Hold on, Talya. Khalid’s right here...” Benny replied.
“Khalid!” I screamed over the line. “What’s happening? We’ve been trying to reach you... Are you okay? What’s going on?”
“Please slow down, Talya. I am fine and everyone is safe and sound.”

“Because I didn’t know where you were calling from and until we saw the code number, I didn’t want Benny to open the line. I wanted to be sure that you were safe before answering any calls.”
