My phone ringing just before midnight was familiar. The hospital often calls if there is an emergency. What surprised me was that it was Scott's ringtone. The only time I had heard from him this late at night was if he had been out on a drunken bender and was calling me for some company. That had not happened in a while, so I needed clarification to hear from him now. Was he drunk somewhere and needed me to pick him up or something else? I know he was doing in-depth research; could he have gotten into some hot water somewhere?
