Bethany POV It was time I headed home. Theo had work in a few hours, and I was dead on my feet, and so was he. Time seemed to slip away, and the predawn light was starting to shine through the windows; I had gone to look in on Dad. The staff all knew me there and had no issue with me coming and going as I felt the need. Dad was holding on; he is not out of the woods yet and is still considered critical, but I am happy with his progress so far. The drain is not all blood anymore. He looks as if he is sleeping. Even with all the tubes and stuff on him, he appears to be at peace; he is not going to be so happy when he wakes up and finds himself all strapped up so he can't move. The specialist said to give his spine a chance to heal, and he had to be immobilized; we won't know for some time
