Kai slid onto one of the stools at the Last Chance Pub. From the other end of the bar, Jake caught his eye and gave him a grin and a thumbs-up. The viewing party for Griffin’s big race was mobbed. Everyone who lived in Rocky Peak wanted to see one of their local celebrities on national TV. Those who were visiting didn’t want to miss out on the party. There were so many people here that the crowd spilled out onto the street. The only reason Kai got a seat was thanks to the reflected glory of being Griffin’s brother.
