Piper sat in the chair next to Seraiya's bed and just watched her still sleeping daughter. Daemon entered the room and handed a cup of coffee to piper. "Thanks" she said, taking it from him. "Where's Damien?" Piper asked. "With your family" he told her.
They were both silent for a moment. "There has to be something we can do," Piper said. "I don't think I can just watch her die," she added.
"Mommy" piper suddenly heard and turned her head to Seraiya. "You're awake," Piper said, leaning in closer to her and feeling her head. "Your fevers gone down" piper added.
