The call from the unknown caller was received but neither of the two spoke. As if holding their breaths, they await for the person from the opposite line to speak first.
“Hello, Uncle Dan? Is anybody there?”
Both of them sighed in relief when he finally does as it revealed to be Markus.
“Oh hey Markus,” Daniel replied. “I’m sorry son, I didn’t recognize the number.”
“Well duh, you made us change our phones, remember?”
“Yes, yes, I did,” he laughed awkwardly. “So, why did you call?”
“I heard what happened to BEC, is everything going to be okay?”
“You don’t need to worry about that, everything is already under control,” he replied as convincingly as he can.
“By the way, I’ve been trying to contact Mom but her phone is off.”
“Ah, you know you’re Mom, she’s easily stressed so I advise
