Ethan
Abbi begins to cry even more firmly silent when the red curtain separates us from the crowd.
"Ssh," I say and strokes her soft hair.
My shirt is soaked with Abbi's tears.
"Ethan forgives me," she sobs.
"Already done Abbi," I assure her. "A long time ago, it wasn't even your fault."
"I broke your heart”, Abbi says.
I lead her to a couch in a corner. I sit down and put her on my lap while I rock her back and forth.
"Abbi, it wasn't your fault, I was just heartbroken," I say.
"But I didn't let you explain," she says and pressed her face against my shirt again.
"I could've tried harder to explain ..." I start but she interrupts me.
