Chapter 12

Narrator’s POV—

Raina was getting ready for her date with Chris. She wore a chocolate colour sleek dress that ended at her mid-thigh. The dress was off shoulder and Raina looked even more attractive in it.

“What do you think?” she asked Isha.

“You look magnificent, fabulous, gorgeous, beautiful, sexy…” Isha kept on and both the friends broke into fits of laughter.

“Stop it Isha.” She said running her hands over her body.

“What! I said the truth and you asked me first!” Isha said pouting and then she whispered, “But what about your husband Rai?”

Raina sighed, “Thanks God, he is not home today!”

“But how long will this go on and what will you do?” Isha asked her.

“Today I am supposed to talk to Chris and we are going to discuss the way forward. Let’s see!” Raina replied when they both heard the sound of a car engine stop in front of the house.

“I think your prince charming is here already!” Isha said giggling and Raina checked her watch. It was 5.40 pm.

“He is twenty minutes early! I am not yet done getting ready!!” Raina frowned and stood nervously biting her lips.

“Relax girl! There is no need to be so dramatic! I will go down and keep him busy. You finish getting ready!” Isha said and rolling her eyes she left Raina’s room.

Chris was so eager to meet Raina and decide about their future together that he reached her house early. Usually he picks her up from other places but this time Raina told him to pick her up from her husband’s house since her husband was out of the city.

He honked and waited for her outside in his car. He has come with Daniel this time.

“I told you to wait a little more! Now you are early.” Dan said in a ‘told you so’ tone.

“Ok. I know. I am just excited.” Chris replied glaring at him.

“Look who is here! Who is she? She is not Raina!” Dan pointed to a girl who walked out of the house. She was approaching their car.

“I think she is her friend.” Chris said and stepped off the car when Isha walked to him.

“Hi! I am Isha, Raina’s close friend.” Isha extended her hand and Chris shook his hand with her.

“Hi Isha! Where is Raina?” Chris asked looking over her shoulder.

Isha chuckled and replied, “Have some patience Mr Chris! You know you are early, right? Raina is getting ready and she will be here right at 6pm! I am sorry but you have to wait a little for her.” Isha said and smirked. “If you want you can come inside and sit.”

“Umm.. No!” Chris replied scratching his eyebrows. “I will wait here for her. Thanks.”

“Ok. Suit yourself.” Isha said and returned back.

Chris turned to Daniel and said, “Let us take the car and go to the restaurant. I can’t make a fool of myself waiting here. You bring her with you. Call Michael and ask him to pick Raina and drive her to the place!”

Saying that Chris took the steering again and sent a message to Riana.

Dan retaliated, “What!! We have to wait only for fifteen minutes more Chris! And I already warned you that you will be early and girls take time to get ready, why are you annoyed now?”

“I don’t like waiting. And I am not annoyed. I just want to utilise the time. Please get Michael to pick up Raina.” Chris started the engine and drove away.

Dan scoffed and called Michael.

“Hello, Michael? Please pick up Ms Raina from her house and bring her to the address I am sending. Try to reach to her ASAP!” Dan said and disconnected the call and then turning at Chris who was driving he asked, “So, how are you planning to Utilise the time?”

Chris smirked giving Dan a quick side glance and replied, “We will take around twenty minutes till Raina reaches the restaurant and we shall review the terms sent by Mr Lanster, our lawyer about the NGO we are going to form.”

“Hmm.. It is there in my tab and in fact I have already mailed you a copy!” Dan replied.

“Good. By the way, I now remember something! Isn’t Mr Lucas Dalton the same who wants to purchase an entire tower in our new housing project?” Chris asked tilting his head.

“Yes. He is the same.” Dan replied.

“Hmm..”

They drove silently and after a long pause Dan suddenly said, “I don’t understand your feelings towards Raina at all Chris! I understand that you haven’t dated as such but still, you cannot even give up your ego for the person you love!”

Chris chuckled loudly!

“You think so?” He raised an eyebrow and shaking his head he said, “You are wrong Dan! Not every love story is a fairytale where the prince has everything served on silver platter! Life is not a novel where the rich guy has nothing to do only because he is rich and spends all his time with his girlfriend.”

“Huh! Whatever!” Dan rolled his eyes.

 Back in the house of the Thorne’s, Raina received a text message and she could just pick up her mobile and check the message that she also heard the sound of a car driving away. Her face turned cold when she checked the message.

“What happened Raina?” Isha asked.

“Chris sent a message that Michael will pick me up and take me to the place where I will meet Chris. He has an important work and had to leave! I think I should have hurried and left. I could have finished my makeup in a few minutes for once!” Raina sat running her fingers through her hair, sighing.

Isha sat beside her and said pressing her shoulder, “Hey! Don’t feel bad! It is not your fault! In fact, you should reconsider about all this once again Rai!”

Raina frowned and whispered gasping, “What! No. No, I can’t! You know that I need him and he is a busy man. I am happy that he has taken out time for me! He wants to be with me!”

She exhaled a breath and said calmly, “Don’t worry Isha! I know what I am doing. Now just let me wait a bit. I am sure Michael will be here in a few minutes.

It didn’t take long for Michael to reach Raina’s house and he picked her up and took her to the rooftop restaurant where Chris was waiting for Raina. He and Dan drove to the same place and sat discussing the legal documents and steps needed to be taken. They were nearly done when Dan received a text from Michael stating that he will be dropping Raina in a few minutes.

“Your girlfriend is here. Let us close this now.” Dan said getting up.

“Yes. I will also go down and receive her.” Chris said and they both walked to the elevator. In a few minutes they reached downstairs and walked out of the restaurant. At the very same time, Michael stopped the car in front of the restaurant. Before he could get down and open the door for Raina, Chris walked ahead and opened the door for her.

“Hey Babe!” he smiled and taking her hand kissed her knuckles. Raina smiled shyly and with the help of Chris, she got off the car.

“Hi Chris!” she hugged Chris and as she pulled back, Chris extended his hand with a red rose. Raina accepted it and smelled the rose. “Thank you Chris.”

“Come. Let us go inside.” Chris interlinked his arm with Raina’s and walked her inside the restaurant.

“Are you angry on me?” he asked whispering in her ears.

“No. Not at all.” Raina replied shyly looking at him. They both entered the elevator and as the elevator door closed, Chris urgently pinned Raina to the elevator wall and claimed her lips hungrily. He shoved his tongue inside her mouth, kissing her roughly.

Raina moaned and gasped with pleasure. Her core started tingling because of the savage kiss. She wrapped her hands around Chris’s neck and her tongue rolled together with Chris’s.

“Mmmm…Mm…”

She moaned with pleasure incentivising Chris! Chris kept kissing her till she was breathless and pulled back after biting her lower lip gently.

He cupped her face and whispered, “I am sorry babe! I had some important work. But you are as important as my work! You know that right?”

Raina nodded looking at him and pecked his lips!

They walked out of the elevator and entered the respective washrooms for men and that for women, to fix their messy hair and the smudged lipstick!

Chris’s POV—

I combed my messy hair and wiped the lipstick mark from my lips. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled remembering the flavour of her mouth! I walked out and waited for Raina. Once she was out we walked hand in hand to the secluded table reserved for us.

I pulled out a chair for her and she sat. I bent over her shoulder and placed a small kiss on her cheek, “You look beautiful as always babe!”

“Thank you darling.” She blushed and looked at me, “You are also looking quite dashing tonight.”

“Yeah?” I smirked and sat on the chair opposite to her. Soon the waiter came to take our orders. Raina ordered for both of us and as the waiter left, I took her hands in mine, on the table and asked, “So, are you ready to have a future together with me?”

Raina smiled at me and pressing my hand she said, “Yes. I am ready!”
