Mia decided to go back inside the house when she heard her phone ring. She quickly takes it from the pocket of her scrubs. Her eyes widened upon seeing who's her caller. She firmly closed her eyes and bit her lip. She felt nervous but she needed to answer it.
"H-hello, Arman," she said in a low tone. She saw Liam staring at her intently so she decided to turn around and kept her voice low. She even covers her mouth to make sure no one can hear them. It's a shame, she's been humiliated since her mother was confined to the hospital and his only brother- Lucas was imprisoned.
"Your due is coming, Sweetheart. Maybe you wanna pay in advance?" A large voice from the other line began.
Mia swallows and clears her throat. She didn't even know how to talk to him and asked for another two weeks.
