Alice’s POV:
“Mister Unicorn! Halt in the name of rainbow skittles!” I yell pointing my sparkly wand at him.
The white unicorn stop, flipping his long braided colorful hair to the side, “You shall never get me the prettiest princess of the Candy Land!”
“I shall ride you across chocolate gummy worm ice cream river!” I screamed, circling my wand and making a blue bunny appear.
He rolls his eyes, “A rabbit?! Oh no! I’m so scared!”
“Be afraid, Mister Unicorn! Attack BunBun!” I yell, and BunBun started hopping on Mister Unicorn’s face.
“I give up, Princess Alice!” He yelled and bow down to me.
I jump on his back with BunBun to chocolate gummy worm ice cream river “Ice cream for all!” I shouted, and it starts raining lollipops and tootsie rolls.
“We love you, Princess Alice,” they all said, kissing my cheeks while the clouds form heart shapes.
“Yummy ice cream,” I mumble.
A pink kangaroo jumps in front of me, “Wake up!” she yells.
“What do you mean, Miss Jum? We have a creamy cream ice cream, I scream, you scream we all scream for ice cream!” I giggle.
“No, it’s time to wake up!” she shouts, and I tilt my head in confusion, stuffing the ice cream into my mouth.
I look down; smacking my lips together “This ice cream tastes funny” I said in an unsatisfying tone, sticking out my tongue.
“Wake up!” Miss Jum shouts.“Wake up!”
I jump up from the bed “Extra chocolate and yummy sprinkles on my super icy ice cream please!”
My eyes met with a pair of deep brown. “What are you doing in my room, Waffles?” I ask.
She rolls her eyes, pushing her glasses upward. “This is my room, Pancakes,” she said, and I looked around to see bunk beds and a fish tank.
“Oh, why are you in your ro-” she hit my head before I can finish.
“Because it’s my room, and you got drool all over my pillow!” She whines, throwing the pillow on the floor that had drool mixing in with bite marks, making me guilty. I must have fallen asleep on her bed when she had violin practice.
I jump off her bed and slip towards the kitchen “Do you have food?” I ask, jumping into the fridge.
Tyler, Nina’s older brother, came out with a toothbrush in his mouth. “Why are you eating our food!” he yelled, splattering paste everywhere.
“Because you’re too fat! I’m eating it so you can get a girlfriend!” I yell, throwing a bowl of spaghetti in the microwave.
“I’m glad I’m not your older brother, I might roll right into my grave!” He said, going back into the bathroom while I stuck out my tongue at him.
When the microwave ding, I swung it open and grab the bowl “Hot hot hot,” I shout, throwing the bowl of spaghetti onto the counter and placing my burning fingers on my ears. Nina shakes her head, pouring herself a bowl of cereal. We sat down and started eating the food, greeting many of Nina’s siblings.
Nina grew up with four brothers, with Tyler being the oldest, and two sisters. She told me it’s hard and annoying growing up with so many siblings, where she wishes she was an only child like me. But, Nina doesn’t know how great she has it. I like her house since it’s always so loud and cheerful. Don’t get me wrong, I love my mom and dad, but sometimes it gets lonely at home when they are at work. When I grow up, I want a big warm family-like Nina, with a lot of kids.
“Nina, I love your mom cooking” I groan out, rubbing my large stomach, releasing a burp
“Are we going to the park?” she asked, and I nod my head.
We put on our matching sparkly pink shoes and walk out the door, “Jackets!” Tyler screams, and we grab our coats.
When we walk out, we saw a large moving truck with an unfamiliar car, “Oh! The cat lady finally kick the bucket!”
The cat lady, or as we refer to her as the Wicked Witch of the West, is a very mean old lady. She would always scream at us to stay off her lawn, even when we are in our yard.
“I’m going to miss her,” I said, feeling something stuck between my teeth.
“Yeah, remember how she used to throw cookies at us?”
“I will miss that the most and the brownies.”
We release a low sigh, “Want to see who is moving in?” she asked, and I nod my head.
We rushed towards the bushes, peeking over the house next door, seeing nothing but the stupid giant white moving truck.
“I can’t see anything, Pancakes!” Nina scream, adjusting her glasses.
“Why are we so short!” I whine, wishing I was taller, like my dad.
She rolls her eyes “We are eight!”
“Oh yeah.....You know what? Forget this! Let’s eat! I’m hungry,” I said, rubbing my hand on my stomach. Quickly, I stood up, turning my body around only to hit a leg.
Rubbing my aching forehead, I was not happy with whoever decided to stand in my way. I tilted my head upward, “Hey watch where you’re -” I trailed off, staring into a pair of wonderous deep brown, unable to finish my sentence.
At that moment, a million butterflies erupted in my stomach. I couldn’t see anyone except him. Looking at him, it feels like seeing a rainbow after a brutal storm for the very first time in my life, and it’s incredible.
He wore tan shorts, along with a loose white shirt with some random band in the front. Inhaling, I can smell nature on him, like trees and the ocean. He ran his fingers through his messy dark brown hair, showing more of his gorgeous eyes. There was a tint of pink on his cheeks, sweats running down his forehead from the hot temperature. He took a few blinks, lips twisting into a dazzling smile.
“Are you okay, cutie?” He teases me, and a surge of knots erupted into my stomach, making me feel full.
I sat there and continue staring at him; mouth gape open.
“Hey, dude! Your mom is calling you!” a voice scream.
He looks up past me, towards the voice “Coming!” he replies.
Turning his attention back towards us, he tilts his head. “See you later, cuties,” he winks and starts walking away.
My hands move on its own, grabbing the hem of his shirt, and he returns his attention towards me, “What’s your name?” I whisper.
The corner of his lips tilted upward into an incredible smile, “I’m Neilson, your new neighbor,” he said.
“Neilson! Mom is calling you!” the voice from earlier scream again. I wish it would be quiet so I can continue drooling over the guy in front of me.
“Coming!” I sat there, unable to remove my eyes. Soon, he reverts his attention back to me “What’s your name?” He asks.
“Alice,” I said, unable to remember how to properly breathe.
“Alice,” he said my name, causing my heart to warm up, and nod his head “I like it,” he said, laughing to himself.
He crouches down to my level, and I drop his shirt “Want some candy?” He whispers, and I nod my head. If I say something, it probably will make me sound stupid.
Neilson shoves his hands into his pocket and pulls out a lollipop “For you”, he hands it to me.
“Its strawberry,” he said, pulling out another one, unwrap it, and stuck it in his mouth with a grin on his face. He moves the lollipop from one cheek to the other “I got to go, I’ll see you later Alice” he stands up and walks away.
I sit there, staring at the strawberry lollipop in my hand “Are you okay?” Nina asks.
My head lifts, turning towards her “I just found my future husband.”
