He tasted incredible! I can't even describe how amazing it was. I could spend every moment kissing this beautiful person and never get enough. His piercing gaze captivates me completely. I've never felt so alive, so liberated, and so truly myself. Just the thought of him parting my legs and taking me makes me bite my lip in anticipation.
“Easy there. If you keep biting that bottom lip, there will be nothing left for me to kiss.” He said, bringing me out of my daydreaming.
“What?” I asked.
A chuckle escaped him as he uttered, "You truly know how to entice me. Every breath you take, every step you take, you simply captivate me. I have half a mind to take you right here in the open.”
“But anyone could see us,” I whispered.
“I know, that is what makes it so exciting.” He teased me.
My tongue darted out licking the top and then the bottom lip as my heart jumped into my chest and my stomach fluttered.
“Come on. Let’s get back.” He told me and gently tugged at my hand, leading me back to the pack house.
The remainder of the day was spent shopping and redoing the bedroom that was supposed to be mine. I stood in the middle of a furniture store looking at a new bedroom suite. I tilted my head and grinned to myself. I looked at the metal bed frame and could picture my legs spread wide with his face buried between my thighs.
“You’re deep in thought. Do you like this one? Hello? Olivia…?” Megan’s voice brought me back to reality.
“Oh, sorry. Yeah, I like this one. Do you think it’s too... Uh… industrial looking?” I asked her.
“No, I don’t think so. I think it's nice looking. I like that it’s more of a brushed bronze color too.” Megan said.
“Yeah.” I thought about being tied down and teased. His tongue gliding along every single one of my curves.
When I looked around, I noticed Megan was gone. I listened and could hear her chatting with a sales rep. I walked over to where they were talking. They shook hands and the guy walked off.
“All set. It will be delivered later today. Let’s go clothes shopping!” She said excitedly.
Later that evening…
I cunningly managed to sneak lingerie past Megan. I was holding it up in the air, marveling at the delicate lace pattern, when a knock sounded on my door. I swiftly stashed the pieces in the drawer and closed it. I opened the door, expecting to see Ezra, but instead, a stranger who I had yet to meet stood in front of me. He appeared slightly older, perhaps by a few years, and had a decent enough appearance.
“Yes, what can I do for you?” I asked him, unsure if he needed Ezra or not.
“So is it true?” He said.
“What is it?” I asked him.
“You’re the new flavor of the month?” He chuckled and reached out to push a strand of hair away from me. This action caused my skin to crawl.
Ew gross. In what world would this be okay? Why did he think I was Ezra’s flavor of the month? I pushed his hand away from me and went to slam the door shut.
“Oh, kitten. You’re feisty. I can see why Ezra is infatuated with you. You’re beautiful and obviously strong-willed. When he tosses you aside, come see me.” He grinned.
“Get away from me and let go of my door now!” I said firmly.
He leaned forward and firmly held the door open in his grasp, no matter how hard I tugged and pulled. I felt Autumn brewing and wanting to explode. If he doesn’t let go, I would have no choice but to shift.
“Unless you would like to find out what you’re missing now?” He reached up to touch me again.
Seriously? Does he not get it? Did he think I was playing hard to get? Ugh!
I swatted his hand away, and he caught it in his grasp, forcing his way into mine and Ezra’s room.
“No, no! Get out!” I yelled.
“Shh, shh, kitten. They’ll hear us.” He said in a low voice, placing a hand over my mouth.
For the first time, I let my instincts take over my body. I gave Autumn full control. In a flash she pushed forward and shifted into our wolf. I was towering over him and growled. In one swift movement she swiped her paw across him, her claws digging into his flesh. He flew across the bedroom and crashed into the mirror. It shattered in sharp shards around him. I let out a deadly growl, daring him to make a mistake.
In another minute, Ezra blasted through the door. His eyes went to us and then to him. He let out a growl, putting two and two together. “Brandon, what the hell are you doing in here with my mate?” His voice was low and dangerous.
“I, I… Your mate?” You could see him physically gulp as his eyes darted back to Autumn.
“Yes my mate!” He yelled.
“I thought she was, well you know.” His voice was uneven as he spoke.
“No, I don’t know.” Ezra glared.
“Well, I thought she was one of the easy women that is around here.” He said.
“River!” Ezra yelled.
About two seconds later, River rounded the corner. “Take my cousin away," he said.
“Of course.” River glanced at Brandon, then me, then back to Ezra. “Where would you like me to take him, sir?”
“The dungeons,” he replied.
“Cousin, you can’t be serious?” Brandon asked.
“You touched my mate. You’re lucky you’re alive.” Ezra said, deadly.
As River snapped his fingers, two men came in, picked up Brandon and escorted him out. When it was safe and Brandon was out of the room, Autumn shifted and allowed me to take control again. I walked into Ezra’s open arms and wrapped my own tightly around him. His hand went to my hair, smoothing it out and placed a solitary kiss on the top of it. I felt my worries and fears melt away in his embrace.
Brandon shouted and fought the men the whole way out. Once they were in the hallway, you could hear the four of them scuffling. Things were being knocked over and broken and thuds were heard against the wall. The commotion echoed down the corridor, drawing the attention of curious onlookers. Concerned voices rose above the chaos as people whispered speculations about the reasons behind Brandon's abrupt removal.
Ezra looked around the room at the mess and asked, “Are you okay?”
I nodded my head and looked around at the mess. “I am sorry that I broke your mirror, Ezra.” I began to apologize, only to be hushed.
“No, no apologies needed. You were protecting yourself. I can’t believe my cousin would do such a thing. I am sorry that he tried to make a move against you. Did he hurt you?” He asked me.
“No, he didn't. However, I had a strong feeling that he would have, especially if I had not reacted quickly. He covered my mouth with his hand and told me to be quiet.” I let out a sigh.
Ezra’s eyes darkened at that. I could feel his skin warming up as his wolf’s anger was pushing to the surface. His arms tightened around me, and he buried his face into my neck. He breathed in deeply, exhaling slowly in an attempt to calm himself.
“I need to mark you.” He said in a low tone.
“Yes.” That was all I said. He needed to mark me. He needed to show that I was his. It would keep things like this from happening. I would be able to communicate with him through a link. I would be better protected if he marked me. I wanted him to mark me.
He let me go for a moment and walked over to the bedroom door and locked it. He stood there for a moment as if he was contemplating something. Maybe he was arguing with his wolf? He turned around and looked me over.
“I am, well, I mean, we are going to mark you.” He said.
“I want you to mark me.” I told him.
“Tonight.” He said, his eyes still seemed dark. My heart raced and pounded in my chest, while a warm blush spread across my cheeks as my gaze lingered on him.
The tension between us was palpable, and I struggled to find the right words to say. With a shaky breath, I finally managed to say, "I would like that very much."
