Reunited (The Secret Admirer Book 2)

VANESSA Mae Abella has been in a relationship with her boyfriend Ron for five year when she discovered that he has been cheating on her. They met at work and she was her first love. She even gave up her virginity to him. When she broke up with him, she decided to move to a different city and she got another job in a bigger company. This was the perfect opportunity for her to start anew and forget about the man who broke her heart. Upon arriving at the new city, she starts a physical relationship with her good-looking boss Gabriel. It was purely s****l, and they agreed to stop sleeping together as soon as she started working for him. When she found out that he has a fiancé, she stops seeing him immediately. Although he tried to get their relationship to move to the next level, she didn’t feel any spark with him, and the one thing she hates the most is a cheater, which he essentially was. Vanessa also met and made new friends at work, Hannah, Ross and Jeremy, Ross and Jeremy both showed romantic interest in her.  Hannah was the human resources manager in the company where Vanessa worked, and they automatically clicked the first time they met. She was her consistent lunch buddy and they’ve gone out a few times to bond. Ross was her partner at work, and she worked on multiple accounts and projects in the office with him. At first, he kept asking her out on a date, but eventually, he settled for a merely platonic relationship. Jeremy was a doctor who initially showed no interest in Vanessa. He’s a client from one of the biggest hospitals in the city. When they ran into each other by chance after their first meeting, they had a drinking session which piqued his interest in her. He started sending her flowers as her secret admirer. When she found out that Vanessa already had a boyfriend, he apologized revealed himself as the secret admirer and accepted that they cannot be more than friends at the moment. The boyfriend who Jeremy saw Vanessa with was her teenage neighbor Julian Margallo. She met him when she rented the house next door to his. He lives in the house with his parents and younger sister. When she saw him, she  was automatically drawn and attracted to him. He was tall, mysterious and very good-looking. She eventually discovers that he’s a very talented painter and basketball player. He ignored her at the beginning, which somehow piqued her interest in him more. His parents started inviting her over to dinner in their home. She becomes close with his family, particularly with his mom Lily, whom Vanessa looked up to. She reminds her a lot of her own mom, whom she dearly misses. She starts bonding with Julian’s little sister Kelly as well, and even went on a shopping trip with her. Kelly eventually reveals that her brother is actually in love with Vanessa, but is somehow hesitant in letting his feelings known to her. He has been keeping a disinterested facade, which Vanessa found endearing. When Julian made his interest known to her, she was hesitant to let him in partly because she just got out of a tumultuous relationship, but also because he was six years younger than her. He was actually still a teenager at the time. He made every effort for her to like him and eventually, she realized that Julian is pretty mature for his age. She also likes that they share an interest in art. She eventually gave in to him and they started dating and sleeping together. Despite their age difference, they fell so madly in love with each other. Vanessa was worried that Julian’s parents might not be supportive of their relationship. They went to dinner and decided to tell his family that they are officially together. She was relieved when she found out that his parents approve of her relationship with their son. His mom even asked her to be patient with his Julian. When Vanessa’s parents visited her, they met Julian and they’re supportive of their relationship as well. They can see how much they love each other, and they are relieved and happy that their daughter is not alone in the city after all. When Julian’s mom noticed that he had been spending too much time with Vanessa, she was worried that they may be moving too fast in their relationship. He has actually unofficially moved in with her to spend more time with her and to protect her as well. When Vanessa and Julian flew to Vanessa’s hometown in Cebu to attend her best friend’s wedding, she tried to talk to Julian’s mom before they left. She wants her to know that she knows not to move too fast in their relationship, and that she’s not going to get in the way of Julian's dreams. In fact, she swore to make sure that he'll finish school and that they won't go too fast in their relationship unless they are both ready. Vanessa felt that Lily was still adamant and that she hadn't convinced her. Julian took her mind off her worries, and assured her that his parents love her and that they are still supportive of their relationship. When they got to Cebu, they unexpectedly ran into Vanessa’s ex-boyfriend Ron. They kept running into him the entire time they were there and he even tried to get back together with Vanessa. Ron eventually realized that Vanessa and Julian are truly in love, and he apologized to her for everything he has done. Vanessa and Ron finally got closure from each other. When Vanessa moved into the house next to Julian’s, she met a few more personalities including Jose and Karl. Jose was a well-mannered handyman who helped Vanessa out with repairs around the house. He also helped install a security camera in her home when she felt threatened by her stalker to claimed to be her secret admirer. Karl was one of their neighbors, who lived three doors away from Vanessa. He was initially kind and welcoming. He started creeping Vanessa out when he kept making comments about how pretty and sexy her body is. She also kept making other s****l innuendos and tried to touch her inappropriately on multiple occasions. Karl has no kids but is married to a lawyer who is rarely at home. He kept inviting her over to his home whenever he claims he’s alone but she kept refusing him. A few days after moving in, Vanessa started finding notes and roses on her gate from a person who claimed to be her secret admirer. The notes started out as sweet, and Vanessa found them flattering. She initially thought it was from the mysteriously handsome man next door. However, when they got together, the notes kept coming so she realized these notes weren’t from Julian. It started out innocently enough, until she found out that her secret admirer once made his way inside her house when she was sick and unconscious. She went to the hospital to get herself checked, and thankfully she wasn’t r*ped. However, he dosed her with a date-r*pe drug, and this scared her enough that she even planned on moving out of the house. The notes kept coming and it became more scary and violent. She eventually stopped reading the notes and tried to forget about it. She felt more secure now since Julian has been spending a lot of time at her house. He was the one who decided and convinced Vanessa to let him move in with her when he found out about the notes,. She mistakenly read a note from the secret admirer and in the note, he vowed to make her his and is willing to kill anyone who gets in the way. One night, Karl trespassed into her home, drugged her and attempted to r*pe her. Julian caught him just in time and almost killed him when he beat him up. Vanessa assumed that the secret admirer who had been sending creepy and threatening notes is the same person who tried to sexually assault her. Since Karl is married to a skilled lawyer, she managed to put Julian in jail for beating up her husband. He stayed in jail for more than a week since Vanessa lost her memory of what happened and is unable to tell the police an account of what happened. When she regained her memory, Vanessa made sure to hire the best legal help to get Julian out of jail. She also wanted Karl to be punished to the full extent of the law. The lawyer got Julian out of jail on bail, and he was finally able to visit Vanessa in the hospital. He wasn’t able to stay very long because he left their house without his parents knowing. Little did she know that this would be the last time they’ll be seeing each other. Julian’s case eventually got dismissed, and they discovered that this is not the first time that Karl was charged for r*pe and s****l assault. His wife managed to get her husband out of jail previously, which allowed him to continue with his perversion. Vanessa vowed not to let him off the hook this time, and they succeeded in getting him jailed for as long as possible. These events caused Julian’s parents, particularly Lily, to have animosity towards Vanessa, and they moved out of their house to keep their son away from her. Vanessa was curious why Julian didn't visit her in the hospital anymore. When she was finally discharged, she went to visit Julian immediately and that is when she found out that he's gone. Before he left, Julian wrote a letter for Vanessa telling her he loves her and asking her to wait for him to come back. He also said that when he comes back, he’ll be marrying her. He left an engagement ring to assure her of his commitment to her. This is where book one ends, and book two of Vanessa and Julian’s love story begins.
