“Beatrice!!!!” her boss called angrily and She immediately knew this whole thing was going to be only about her now. It was going to be a disaster.
“He grabbed my ass!” She yelled. At the moment, She didn't give two cents if She was sacked. She felt disrespected and the plan was to treat the situation as such.
Daniel who was beginning to dust the coffee off his suit raised his head abruptly, looking at the phones that were recording him.
“Get this nut heads out of my face!” he yelled at no one in particular.
“Please, leave!” the boss said to the customers who were murmuring inaudibly.
Daniel rested his face in his palm, throwing his stained-face towel inside the waste bin angrily.
He only came here to give her a push about wanting him but never did he see this coming.
“I will make sure you pay for this!” he said in a harsh tone before storming out of the cafe.
“Mr. Debock!” Beatrice’s boss called after him but he was too pissed to listen to her.
“Mr. Debock!” she called again but he was walking briskly away from the cafe.
“s**t!” she said angrily, throwing the towel in her hand at Beatrice.
“It wasn’t my fault. He was making advances towards me and still wouldn't stop at that!”
“You know who that is?” her boss asked her and she nodded.
“He’s Daniel Debock. He owns the company just a few miles away from here!”
“Is that all you know about him?”
“Is there something else I need to know about him?” She said, irritatedly.
“You need to know that he can choose to lock this place down if he so pleases! You need to know I'm going to lose this place, I'm going to lose my baby because you couldn't take just a grab!”
“Louis!” Beatrice said in a harsh tone. She felt violated. “He didn't just grab me, Louis. He grabbed my ass for heaven’s sake. What other reaction were you expecting from me?”
“To be a bit nice towards him at least? Smile more and do exactly as he asked.”
“He was being rude to me and made offensive remarks about my body. Why are you defending him?”
“Because I will choose my cafe over you!”
“What?”
“Because I wanna make money and save the little I make instead of having you hit a billionaire and having to lose my cafe. Is that a wrong move?”
“Absolutely!”
“Fine. As of this moment, you will stop working here and I’m going to find a way to save my ass!” Louis was pissed, she was shocked and sad.
Louis knew how beautiful Beatrice was and how she was a great selling strategy for her business. Most people who visited her cafe did so because they wanted to see her and they dropped a huge tip in the process but now, she needed to send her off.
.............
Never had Daniel felt even more humiliated as he exited the cafe in a stained shirt. He felt dirty and even irritated by what happened earlier. He couldn't believe that he just got hit by a woman he was trying to woo.
Daniel hated the fact that she was daring and proving to be different and difficult, still, he couldn't point out what he had done to deserve her aggression.
The most annoying part of his day was him going back to the office building and having his staff stare at him like a weirdo as he made his way to his office. Especially those who saw him in a clean shirt when he was going out earlier.
Daniel gave them all a nasty glare as he proceeded to his office.
Getting in, he was about to proceed to the adjoined bathroom to get a change of clothes when he stopped in his tracks and brought out his phone from his pocket.
He was unsettled and needed to vent his anger. He made a group call to his best friends and they picked up almost at the same time.
" I can't believe you have the nerve to initiate a group call after ditching us in the club last night." Henry was saying when he stopped and stared closer into the screen. "Wait? What's.... is that Coffee on you?" He frowned, noticing the stain was one that didn't look unintentional.
Chad, who seemed busy, looked up from Henry’s remark and immediately laughed when he saw Daniel.
“Man, what’s wrong? What happened to your shirt?” he asked, still laughing.
“If it was so funny, I would have gone for the comics and not put a call through to you guys!”
“What happened?” Chad finally asked.
“I was disrespected. I was humiliated, I was assaulted, I was embarrassed, I was...”
“Chill. Breathe and then speak!” Henry encouraged.
“I hate that girl so much. I hate the fact that she exists to start with. I hate that I got entangled with her. I hate the fact that I met her!”
“Oh! chill, dude. Which girl are we talking about here?” Henry asked.
“You took a girl home from the club?" He asked, wondering.
“What? No!”
“Who then?” Chad pressed.
“Why the suspense?” Henry said impatiently.
“It was Beatrice!”
“I knew it!” Chad said with a chuckle.
“What did she do?” Henry asked instead, with a straight face. He had never seen his friend this disturbed about a lady. He always knew him to be the man of the moment and never to be so pressed about anything.
“She...” Daniel was going to answer their questions when a call came in. It was his Dad.
“s**t!”
“What?”
“My Dad is calling!”
“Then pick!” Henry said and Daniel rolled his eyes before ending the call with them.
“Hey, Dad!” he said in a low tone. Yet, surprised as to why his dad was calling him during work hours.
“Come down to the mansion!”
He frowned. "Why? Is anything the matter?"
"Your Mother and I need to talk to you."
"Look, Dad, I hate to disrespect you but if this is about attending Anita's wedding or about grandchildren, then please count me out. You all know how I feel about these topics."
"Besides, I'm very busy at the office. I've got lots of work to do."
"Very interesting, Son. You have lots of work to do but yet you had the time to go down to the cafe and grab a waitress's ass. For God's sake, Daniel! What the hell were you thinking?!"
Dan froze with the phone glued to his ear.
"Wait. H..where.....I.... I don't know what you're talking about."
"Really? Is this what is going to become of you? Moving around and disgracing the family name by taking advantage of young women? What the hell has come over you, Daniel?"
"Can't you control whatever nasty urge it is you have against women? What exactly is wrong with you?!"
"Look, Dad, it's not what you think!"
"It's not what I think? Didn't I just watch the video? Do you know what would happen to Natalie if she saw that silly clip?"
"Enough, Dad! Please!!! Natalie and I are over. Please don't bring her into this conversation."
"Meet me in the house in 30 minutes!" His father commanded, ending the call.
