From the middle of his study, Aahan stood up, and started shouting Ritik's name. He knew his words wouldn't reach the kitchen, where Ritik must be cooking for them. Ritik always came to Aahan's apartment to wake him up and prepared the breakfast for him. Ritik loved to cook. Infact during the days of engineering, he was their official chef in hostel. While Kamal and Aahan, being the lazy souls shared the work of washing dishes. Without wasting any time, Aahan directly went to the kitchen. "Hey, Ritik. I need your help year." Aahan said seeing Ritik inside the kitchen. "Help?" Ritik asked, while adding salt in the half boiled curry. "Let's practise one more time for the interview. You know, I can't fail again. And this job should be registered for me. I'm fully prepared, but take my interview again, please." Aahan pleaded, tightening his fist looking confident. But Ritik didn't respond anything. He was still busy in adding right amount of ingrident to his potato curry. "Are you even listening me?" Aahan again said, before Ritik could tell anything. "Yes, I'm listening, Bro. You first check the taste of this curry, Does it need more salt?" Ritik gave a piece of potato to Aahan. "I haven't brushed yet yaar." Aahan laughed, while savouring the taste of chilly potato. Ritik was that good chef, who can add magic to a simple potato. "Oh! That's why you smell weird, and I'm wondering why!" Ritik moved his head in a way, making fun of Aahan. "I have no time for your rubbish, come soon." Aahan said and left the kitchen, stomping his feet like a kid. Ritik was happy for his friend's confidence and attitude, which was missing in him before. He put a plate on the curry he was making, and lowered the gas flame, and left towards Aahan's room. Kamal was already sat there on Aahan's bed, eating his head with his non-sense questions. "So, we will take your interview again, Ha Ha, yeah." Kamal chuckled. "So, answer me now. Why fish never sinks into water? Why do birds not fall from the sky?" "Shut up, KK. I need this job at any cost. Come on, let's start, Ritik!" Aahan said, pulling Ritik's wrist. Ritik went and sat beside Kamal. While Kamal pulled the pillow from his side and kept over his crossed leg. Keeping his elbow on the pillow and cheek on fist, Kamal sat comfortably carrying a look of tease. "Okay, Now you need to come from outside, you know?" Kamal asked. "Yeah, yeah, I know." And Aahan left the room holding a file, as if he would face the interview and they were going to create an interview scene in his room. Ritik brought a chair and put it in front of the bed for Aahan and again sat beside Kamal. "Next!" Kamal Started the interview scene with utmost excitement. "Sir, May I come in?" Aahan politely asked. "Yes, come in!" Ritik said, trying to maintain his attitude as an interviewer. "Good morning, sir!" Holding the file, Aahan wished as he entered inside. "Morning, have a seat!" Kamal intensified the interview. He still had a grin on his face and mischief in his eyes. "Thank you, sir!" Sitting on the chair, Aahan said without any nervousness in his eyes. "Cut! Cut!" Kamal Shouted. "Do us a favor. Please, sit at a little more distance. You smell weird while talking. Haven't you brushed today?" He asked putting his hands around his mouth and nose. To a response, Ritik also chuckled, putting his palms in his mouth. "What the... Are you guys serious!" Aahan showed his irritating face to Kamal, "And you, Ritik... Leave!" "Sorry, Sorry, we are serious. Now let's start again." Ritik said controlling his laugh. "Okay, light, camera, action!" Kamal couldn't stop his comedy, and resumed the interview scene. "So, Mr. Choudhary! Tell something about yourself!" Ritik asked in a serious note looking at the file Aahan had provided as his resume. "Sir, My full name is Aahan Choudhry. I have been brought in a orphanage, as my parents died when I was seven. I have completed my Graduation in CSE from the Rajiv Gandhi institute of Technology, Mumbai. I love my best friend so much, and I love to be kind for the poor as I have seen difficulty in my life. I believe in compassion, and helping others. That's it." Aahan Confidently said. "That's great! " Kamal exclaimed with his answers. "OK, what's your strength and weakness? " Kamal asked again. This time he was serious. He clearly knew how much his friend was in a need of job. "About my strength, well I can say I'm good at coding and I can type fast, and then my weakness is I work hard." In one flow, Aahan replied. "You work hard!" Kamal laughed, while Ritik's stern expression stopped him. "What is computer software?", asked Ritik. "Computer software is a complete package, which includes software program. Its documentation and user guide on how to use the software." "Can you differentiate computer software and computer program?" As Ritik asked the next question, Kamal kept mum. The only reason why Kamal had chose engineering was because of peer pressure and family's wish. He clearly have no goal to achieve. Then CSE seems to be familiar to him. All he thought was he will have computer and hell lot of entertainment. Then in the first day, all the myth disrupted as he learned about the various languages of computers. "Java! HTML! C+! C++! Python!... Damn why do we talk in Hindi? Why do we learn in English and why we use other languages if in the end we have to follow the languages of this stupid box - computer!" These were his exact words at the first class and from then he used other ways to pass the examination. All he had from the four years of graduation was a single piece of certificate and two great friends. "A computer program is piece of programming code which performs a well defined task where as software includes programming code, its documentation and user guide." Aahan's answer were like some Chinese dialouge for Kamal, for which Kamal was not even interested to switch on the subtitles' option. "What is software engineering?" Kamal asked the question, he just found from internet. "Software engineering is an engineering branch associated with software system development." Aahan answered confidently. "But you are wrong." Kamal objected. Aahan narrowed his eyes towards him. While Ritik chuckled, shaking his head. Feeling both their gaze on him, Kamal shrugged his shoulder and said, "Wikipedia says, Software engineering is the systematic application of engineering approaches to the development of software." "If you won't shut up now, I won't mind to break your hands and legs and then I will parcel you to the head office of Wikipedia. There you shall discuss with their team about your doubt and provide some important suggestions to them. Right?" Aahan replied, clenching his teeth. Kamal kept a finger on his mouth like an obedient kid. "Well, you can go now, we will inform you soon." Ritik said to end the interview session. "Okey, thank you, sir!" Aahan heaved a sigh. While Kamal came with his own style, "Selected." He winked with his one eye to Aahan, to which all three of them laughed. Not a single time Aahan stuttered while answering questions. Of course, he was free with his friends. But still he was more confident than ever, which made three happy as it could bring some hope. 8 AM it showed in the watch, and that means Aahan would be late. So quickly he went to the bathroom to get ready. While Ritik went to the kitchen again to finish the unfinished cooking, and Kamal laid down on the bed with mobile phone on his hand. After sometime, he felt bored and started to play a Bollywood item song. He moved his body like dancing with the lyrics, And from the back Aahan came and kicked him. "Ouch!" Kamal yelled in a feminine voice. "So, with dancing in this item song, you became a girl then?" Aahan raised his eyebrows to Kamal, who was shamelessly acting like a girl. A hot figure he had got with slim complexion. In a response, Kamal was acting more like a girl, as if he was trying to seduce Aahan. "Okay. So, now me and Ritik can have fulfilled our desires!" Aahan moved little near Kamal. And now he behaved normal like a boy with punching Aahan. In normal, anyone would say KK was unfit for this trio, but in fact he had brought the best memories to their friendship, even with his immaturity. He was never a replaceable part of their friendship. He was the first one to plan for any trip, or for any special occasions. Being a son of a businessman, he never had any tension for job. Infact he had offered Ritik and Aahan to work with him, but they denied. Their friendship was priceless - the rarest to find in this opportunist world. Three of them cared for each other and priorities each other's happiness than anything and anyone. Aahan and Kamal never ever felt jealous of Ritik's success. Neither Aahan and Ritik had any hard feelings for Kamal's happiness. There of them stood by each other, celebrating each other's success and motivating the one who failed. In the world, where love fades away over some time and people forgot their own parents, these trio created an example of friendship. It was so pure, there was no rule of give and take. And the golden rule was to act always like one family. They were indeed each other's family. As Aahan went inside his room to get ready, Kamal peeked a little to see Ritik's room door locked. He pulled out the drawer where Aahan's resume was kept and read the name of the company. 'Verma Pvt. Ltd.' He recalled the name and dialled a number. The person picked up on the first ring only. "Hello, Sir. Good morning." His PA replied from the other side. "Morning. Piyush, Listen. Contact your source and set a deal with Verma industry. I need my friends' job to be finalised there at any cost, okay?" Kamal said with authority. "Yes, Sir." Piyush replied as an obedient employee, while Kamal cut the call. Kamal had always preferred the wrong ways to grab things. He passed his engineering by means of these ways only. Aahan and Ritik never appreciated his way but they couldn't change him. 'Money is the game changer.' Kamal strongly believed the quote. He used his money and changed the situation in his favour. He was a good man. He helped the needy, he didn't show off his money. But he used money to ease his path without harming any innocent. As long as he got the benefit, he cared less about the ways. Even Mr. and Mrs. Kashyap hated this attitude of their son. Nevertheless they knew that one day he will realise that every word should have been done in a right way. Kamal put his phone inside his pocket as Ritik's room door opened. Ritik came out cladded in his formal uniform. He sat on the table and waited for Aahan to join him for the breakfast. Kamal went towards the dining table and pulled a chair for himself. "Put a plate for me." "Yeah, King of England, what more should I do in your service?" Ritik asked sarcastically. "Serve me the breakfast. I guess this much would be fine, my subject." Kamal ordered in a deep voice. "Shut up." Ritik threw the butter knife towards him. "You are attempting my murder." Kamal accused faking a cry. "Oh really, I am glad that I have done. Did you die? Tell me first. I gonna announce this news in national channel. Finally earth will free of the burden of carrying a giant named - Kamal Kashyap." Ritik said, while arranging plates on the table. "Huh! I hate you. Where is my love - AAHAN!" Kamal shouted. There was no response. "Did he sleep again?" Kamal asked to no one particular and went toward Aahan's room. He kept banging the door until Aahan came out to smack his face. Ritik laughed from the dining room, guessing the daily scenario. The day was just started... To be continued...
