I stiffen and so does Silver, slowing down his pace to check our surroundings. What was that? I ask, not really sure if I want to know the answer. There is a deadly silence hovering in the air, the sounds of leaves crunching under Silver’s hoofs the only thing we are able to hear. No birds are singing, not even a single bee is buzzing around the few rare flowers, hiding between the roots.   I have a hunch, but I truly hope, that I’m wrong, Silver finally responds.
