Esme was shocked to see Colton back down. His body language changed, his eyes became softer and she was even more confused when he took a step closer. Not that there was much space between them before, now their clothes touched. About to open her mouth to ask him what the hell he was doing he muttered under his breath, "I'm sorry."
Taken aback by his words, she couldn't speak. Her mouth moved but nothing came out. He didn't seem the type to find apologising easy so deep down she knew he meant it and, in shock, all she could say was, "Err.... OK."
His lip twitched into a small smirk and for a split second she saw a sparkle in his eye. "C'mon lets get to art class. We're already late."
