Aldrick
It's been two weeks since the attack and Emma still hasn't woken up yet. Dr. Ayad is concerned but all we can really do is wait for now. Her wounds were extensive, and her healing has slowed down because she is a runt and she's just recently been rejected by her mate. A human's healing plays a large part in its wolf's healing. If the wolf has been damaged either physically, mentally, or if the wolf itself is weak, that wolf will have a difficult time mending its human body.
I let out a sigh as I sat up in the hospital chair and pulled the beige hospital blanket up higher on Emma's chest. She is still heavily bruised but since I donated a bit of my blood, her healing has picked up substantially. Her bones have healed and internal bleeding has stopped. It's one benefit of being a lycan, healing blood. If we choose to give it, that is, good luck just trying to take it from us. We're not known for our sharing. I looked down at the holes in my jeans and pluck at some of the loose strings absentmindedly and then pull my white t-shirt down a bit. I've been stopping by daily to sit with her, but these last two weeks have been busy.
The day Dr. Ayad said she was stable, they her moved into a private room and I went directly to the prison. The prison was three floors below the basement in our main downtown building. The "packhouse" was a skyscraper building in the middle of downtown and was in the center or our pack’s boundary. Upper floors for high-ranking packs residents, center floors for pack community and gatherings, lower floors for offices. 55 floors of luxury living and working space. We were proud of our home. We were one of the wealthiest packs in the U.S. and it showed. I briskly walked to the elevators and punched in my code with my handprint and went down to the lower levels.
Our warden, James, met me at the elevators on the prison floor and briefed me on what they had found so far about the two prisoners that were currently being detained separately. I opened the main door that was heavily reinforced with silver in the center of large plates of steel and walked down to the first detainee. I stopped and opened up the file before going into the room. Blaze Lytle, senior in high school, mediocre grades, parents own a lucrative business downtown.
Warden James handed me an iPad and suggested I watch the video. They pulled off of the dropped phone before I entered. I had thought of that phone for two days, but I was reluctant to watch it. I didn't want to see what they did to her, but I knew I had to do it. I knew it was going to piss me off, and it did. The rejection, the beating, the near rape, it was all there. This should be a cut and dry case, but these shits belonged to families that were high ranked or did business with the pack directly, so I had to proceed with caution and make sure everything was done correctly. I don't want their families finding any loopholes that may get them set free. I am going for the highest punishment; I want to personally execute them, but I still have to follow laws before I can.
I opened the door and entered the small grey room. I large two-way mirror took up one side of the wall with a metal table in the center. Blaze was sitting at one end, cuffed with silver to the table, and I sat down across from him. He was wearing a prison orange jumpsuit with shower shoes and his hair was standing on end. Brown hair, brown eyes, decent looking, but obviously a basic b***h. He gave me a smug smile and sat back; he sucked imaginary food out of his teeth and sat up, leaning towards me.
"You can't keep me here. Do you know who my dad is?" Blaze glared directly into my eyes before continuing, "He'll have me out of here soon.”
I smiled at him. "You think your dad is going to pull rank on his Gamma?" instantly Blaze lost the color in his face. I slid the iPad over to him and hit play on the video. I could tell from Blaze’s expression that he didn't consider or even remember we had video proof of their crimes.
"It doesn't matter. She's just an omega. She's weak. Her mate had every right to do what he wanted," Blaze said as he sat back. If I could kill this kid now, I would.
"Is that how you see women? Is that how you see pack members that are weaker than you?" I sat back and crossed my arms over my chest. "It's a warrior’s responsibility to defend and protect their pack members, especially the ones that can't defend themselves. You failed the most basic of laws.”
"Assault, attempted murder, attempted rape, s****l battery... all crimes that are punishable by death in this pack and the fact that one of our most defenseless was the target is even more heinous" I gave him a tight, humorless smile while I continued "You won't be making it out of this prison alive, it might be days or even weeks before I can kill you, but it will happen. I can lesson your punishment if you cooperate.”
"How?" Blaze asked as he gulped nervously.
"I need some information on this guy here." I slid a picture of the wolf that rejected Emma and started the attack. "Jake Alderate, where can I find him? Where does he usually hang out?"
"Bros before hoes," Blaze scoffed.
"Okay. " I put my hands up in defeat. "I guess we're done here. " I sat forward while I collected the iPad and files. I'm actually glad he didn't cooperate. It makes it easier for me to execute him. I'll still find Jake.
"Wait, that's it?" asked Blaze.
"I have your friend next door. He's been crying since yesterday, so I'll get what I need from him. You really should have cooperated. I'm going to make your death slow. " I gave him a sadistic smile as I turned away from him and walked out.
"HEY, HEY WAIT! " yelled Blaze, but I walked out and closed the door. I walked a few feet down the hall until I got to the next door and scanned the file. Axel Gomez. Let’s see what b***h we have behind door number two.
I entered a room that looked exactly like the previous one and sat down before looking up. Axel is sitting before me in an orange jumper, same as before. I could tell Axel had been crying. He's still hiccupping with snot draining out of his nose. Before I could even question him, he admitted to everything; the boy sang like a canary without me even having to say a word. He swore up and down he had no intention of raping Emma; he was going to go get help. I doubt that. I sat back and ran my hands down my face.
"Where can I find him?" I asked.
"Honestly, sir. I don't know. I started hanging out with them a few months ago. No one tells me anything," Axel said.
"It's too bad you got mixed in with these guys, but the fact remains you still contributed, you are still guilty," I sighed while I gathered my things and got up.
"Do you know what's going to happen to me?" Axel asked.
"You're going to die," I stated plainly as I walked out.
