Chapter Two My Wolf?

Bella POV

I returned to my room with complicated feelings.

What the hell was happening? Who drugged me? Why did I feel so different? And what was that strange yet familiar voice?

“Hmm, though I am not sure who drugged you, it’s clear that you and our chosen mate had s*x last night. The reason why you are changing should be because of me and the weird wolfbane toxin in your body. And I am...”

What the heck?! Who was talking?

I was frightened by the sudden voice in my brain.

“Silly Bella, I am Lara, your wolf.” The voice continued.

“Lara? My wolf? I have a wolf? It’s been three years. I thought that I don’t have a wolf.” I tried to talk to that voice. My voice was shaking a little because of excitement.

“I am sorry Bella, for keeping you waiting for so long. I was too weak in these few years, too weak that I almost disappeared. Then I had no choice but to sleep and save the energy, waiting for an opportunity to come out. And last night, I felt a surge of energy entering our body. With that energy, I can finally talk to you.” Lara explained.

“Lara, I am so happy to finally meet you. I thought maybe Moongoddes had forgotten me and I would be alone, without a wolf, forever. But now you come. Thank you Moongoddes, thank you, Lara.” My eyes turned red. Tears of joy welled up in my eyes. I had a wolf. I was not alone anymore.

“Me too, Bella. I am so happy to have you.” Lara chuckled cheerfully.

I thought about the words Lara just told me. She said she felt a surge of energy last night. Should it be from... Lorenzo? After all, he was my chosen mate and we did mate last night. So, he turned out to do something good to me unintentionally, after ignoring and hurting me for three years.

“Bella, now that I am here. You don’t have to be stuck with this chosen mate who treats us so badly. I know you’ve loved him for three years but he doesn’t deserve our love. We can go and find our true mate. The royal family had bullied us for three years and you had been suffering all these times. It’s time to leave this damn place. You have me now. You need to be strong for us and stop being obedient.” Lara tried to persuade me.

“You’re right, Lara. It’s time to end this hopeless love.”

Ever since the first time I met Lorenzo, I flipped. And it had been three years. I tried my best to be a proper, decent, and obedient Luna for him. But it was time to leave now.

“Lara, I promise, I will no longer be obedient. And I will be strong for you, for us.” For all those years, everyone told me that I had to be obedient. My father asked me to always follow his words and be a good girl, a good-tempered lady ever since I was a little child. The teachers in school asked me to behave and be good even though I was the one who was bullied. And after I married into the royal family, I was told to be obedient and abide by all the rules, no matter how ridiculous they were. Lara was the only one telling me that I didn’t have to be obedient and listened to everyone’s words like a puppet. I could also be me and be strong.

“That’s the spirit! I can’t wait to meet the new Bella already!”

Lara’s words cheered me up. I also couldn’t wait to meet the new me.

Ring! Ring!

My phone rang at the moment.

“Hello?”

“Bella, it’s me, Bruce. Your medical report is out. There’s mutated wolfbane toxin in your blood and that should be the cause of your memory decline. The toxin should have been in your body for a few years. It has done severe damage to your body. It might also lead to personality change and memory loss. You have to come and get the prescription. The medication will help to keep you safe for now. And remember to check everything you drink and eat. The poisoner is likely to be someone from the Palace.” Bruce’s gentle and worried voice sounded from the other line of the phone.

Wolfbane toxic? So the toxin was part of the reason why I changed? And the toxin had been in my body for a few years? Bruce was right. The positioner should be someone from the Palace. Who was it then? Who would want to poison me?

“OH, MY GODDESS! Bella, we need to leave this f*****g place NOW! Obviously, someone here is poisoning you! It’s too dangerous to stay even a minute longer!” Lara yelled in my head excitedly and worriedly.

“I know Bella, relax, we’ll leave tomorrow,” I said to her in my mind, comforting her.

“Bruce, thanks for that. I will come tomorrow to pick up the prescription. Don’t worry. Today is my last day in the Palace.” I then told Bruce.

“Good, see you tomorrow then.”

After hanging up the phone, I started to discuss with Bella how to end the chosen mate relations from my end.

“Should I call the Council?” I asked.

“I would say yes. It should be our best choice. And call the damn White Family, letting them know you are ending this stupid marriage. John White has been sucking your blood for too long! He has never been like a father to you, yet he demands you to bring profits to him! He’s a filthy monster!” Lara shouted the last few words so angrily. I could almost see her howling and stomping in my head.

I couldn’t help chuckling. It was so warm and nice to have someone care about me. It had been years ever since my mother’s death.

“Bella, why are you laughing? I am so damn angry. How can they treat you so awfully?!” Lara humphed.

“I am just too happy to have you.” I smiled.

“Oh, you are so sweet.” Lara chuckled, seeming a bit shy. “Now, let’s get to work!!” Lara yelled energetically.

We then called the Council and the White Family. The Council promised to come this afternoon and the White Family would also send someone here. My father wasn’t at home at the moment and it was one of the Omega servants to pick up the phone. I could imagine that when he heard that later, he would be so pissed off and punish me for not being obedient. But I was not afraid of that anymore. I was not the old weak Bella and I would no longer stand there and wait for his unreasonable punishment. I would fight this time.

“Bella, how about we send our soon-to-be ex a surprise? To piss him off?” Lara snickered and brought me back to reality.

“Oh? Any good idea?” I chuckled and asked. Lara was such a naughty wolf and I loved that!

“Since he loves video so much, how about we send him a video?” Lara winked in my mind.
