”...Laikan.” I touched his shoulders and sat up, pulling the bedsheets over my body.
“You knew that I didn’t have a wolf?” I gaze at him, he is staring at every other place except me. He hummed and stared at me.
I looked down and picked on my nails.
“Then why did you...?” My voice croaked and blinked my eyes a few times, though not staring at him.
“It doesn’t matter.”
“You never knew how it felt, did you? When you are nothing without a wolf. If I had one, probably would have known that I was your mate.” I couldn’t deny that I heard him mention the word ‘mate.’
“It wouldn’t have changed anything.” He muttered nonchalantly with a slight shrug of his shoulders.
“What do you mean?” I turned and faced him. He shrugged again and took the bedsheets off his body.
