#7 Workplace be like...

2123 Words
"You are in a playful mood, Nolan," Mike said, making Nolan roll his eyes. Why did this man have to open his mouth and make him feel sour? "Is it because of Gianna? Have you two reconciled? Good for you both. Aunt would be so happy," Mike whispered. Nolan closed his eyes, pushing his urge to say something he might regret. Nolan acted like he had to make some urgent call and tricked Mike into losing him for good. Mike was around him like a helicopter, unwavering from his side. It was becoming obnoxious. Nolan walked around the hotel, hoping to cross paths with Elise. He met plenty of women who would drool at him. Yesterday, he would have enjoyed their unfaltering attention. But today, his situation has changed drastically. He could only feel the desire to be around Elise. He wasn't sure what had changed in one day. If someone had told Nolan yesterday that he would desire only one woman, he would have laughed it off. But today, he felt so loyal, like a puppy. Nolan chuckled at the comparison, but he was in a good mood. The woman he had been looking for ubiquitously was around him, sharing the same workplace. Now he wouldn't mind coming to the Pristine hotel to improve the conditions. After all, his life's conditions had also changed for good. His new workplace was going to be pleasant. Nolan was wandering around the hotel when he saw Gianna waving her hand at him, coming in his direction. Taking a deep breath, he muttered something unintelligent out of frustration. Nolan turned in haste to avoid her, running toward an empty corridor. He saw a staff member leaving after cleaning an unoccupied room. He entered the room when he heard footsteps behind him. Nolan sighed, catching his breath. He jumped onto the bed to relax. His heart was still thumping from all that running. He was still worried that Gianna would find him. He was in no mood to listen to her questions. She would act out for whatever happened yesterday. Maybe she would threaten him with Clarence. If Nolan hated anyone's company the most, it was Clarence. He didn't want to be anywhere near her. Nolan would have avoided that woman like some communicable disease, provided there was no need for him to please his father. He smiled casually, imagining her in a medieval-style witch cloth, casting some spells at his father to control him like a puppet. The only aim in his life was to succeed enough to get rid of them for good. He wondered if all that money and luxury was worth their suffocating presence in his life. Suddenly, when someone opened the door, making his heartbeat rise, he got up from the bed, looking flustered. He was worried it was Gianna. He looked for some safe place to hide. But it was too late. He closed his eyes when the heel-clicking sound got closer to him. When the sound coming from the heels stopped suddenly, Nolan cracked his eyes to check out of curiosity. And in a flash, his eyes widened. Indeed, it was his lucky day. A broad smile reaching his eyes rolled through his lips, making his heart pound louder if that was possible. "Elise!" Nolan couldn't control his excitement. His icy persona was gone. Elise was on floor duty, inspecting the unoccupied rooms for cleanliness before the guests arrived. She would never have imagined bumping into Nolan there, out of all the places in the hotel. What was he even doing there? Did he know she was there? Or was it a mere coincidence? "What are you doing here?" Elise asked, unable to process his presence. Nolan chuckled, looking even more handsome. Elise swallowed hard, trying to resist his charms that made her uncomfortable at unwanted places in her body. The memories of last night flooded her mind, making it difficult for her to think clearly. "I was worried you would pretend not to know me," Nolan spoke in a husky voice, getting dangerously close to her. Elise couldn't help but step back in reflex. Didn't he desert her earlier? So what gibberish was he spitting at her? The man could be her death. Although she felt abandoned earlier that morning, she still felt drawn to him. "Why would I do that? We had alcohol together in your pub." Elise tried to maintain her composure, though she had the strength of a house of cards on the inside. "And?" Nolan chuckled, enjoying teasing her. She reacted to him with every word he spoke, every step he took, and every action he took. It was her earnest reaction that made him want her. Fakes surrounded him. She felt like a breath of fresh air in his mundane life. "I am having a problem remembering the rest." Elise lied through her teeth, ignoring his eyes. Nolan smirked. She was purposefully averting her gaze. "Then why did you leave like that in the morning?" He was now a few inches away. Elise had forgotten to move, just like she had forgotten how to breathe in his presence. But that question felt like an accusation, making her come out of her trance-like state. "I... I..." She breathed heavily, swallowing hard. Nolan smirked when she stuttered, waiting for what excuse she would make. He had his doubts that she might have forgotten. But, her expression gave away the truth. There was nothing she could hide or lie about, even if she tried. It was so refreshing. Elise stepped back to put some distance between them. But no matter how many steps she took back, he was always too close to her. She wasn't able to think clearly. Wasn't he supposed to ignore her? Shouldn't an heir like him treat her like a one-night stand? She was worried he would fire her to avoid complications. But he was enjoying this a little too much. It scared her that he had hidden intentions, like Mike. She had to be more careful. She can never fall for a wealthy man, no matter how hard they try. They are always sweet at the beginning. Despite all the reasoning that her head was throwing her way, her heart was pounding against her chest. Her body yearned for him. And she couldn't ignore the wetness between her legs. The erotic memories of last night were still fresh. She saw her like a man. A man she wanted to make love to! His smirk made her restless. She craved to kiss them and also avoid him. She was at a war with herself, her head and heart torn apart by this demigod! "I..." Elise was still stuttering, unable to formulate words. But to her surprise, Nolan pushed her against the door and covered her mouth with his hand. "Shh..." He whispered, putting his fingers on his mouth, asking her to keep quiet. He looked for something through the peephole. Then he hinted at paying attention to the heel sound coming from outside. He kept looking at the peephole back and forth while he pressed his body closed against hers. Elise was too consumed by what was happening to her to hear anything outside. She couldn't help but keep looking at his handsome features. His neatly draped hair suited him like the casual look he had pulled off last night. How can someone look so good in whatever they wear or however they made their hair? His manly cologne was making her enthralled. She drooled at his perfect face and then fixated her eyes on his full lips, breathing erratically. Involuntarily, she grasped his shirt, snuggling a little. Her actions made Nolan shift his attention to Elise, amused. Nolan smirked when he saw Elise reacting to his proximity. She, too, felt something for him, even if she would deny it. He again looked at the peephole to make sure Gianna had left. Once he confirmed, he removed his hand from her lips, caressing her cheeks and then to her neckline as she let a soft moan, closing her eyes, quivering under his sensual touch. "You are beautiful," Nolan whispered in her ears. His face was so close to hers that his warm breath hitting her ear made her shiver. Goosebumps spread over her body as she took a deep breath inside, clutching his shirt. The way he said that made her believe that she was indeed beautiful. There was no trace of doubt in his voice. She had not put on heavy makeup. Neither did she wear any attractive jewelry. Yet, this man found her attractive. How? She questioned herself. Mike had never told her she was beautiful. He always told her he liked her for who she was. But that was fake. But Nolan was ten steps ahead of Mike. How could he lie through his teeth about such unbelievable things and make it sound true? Or was he seeing something in her that even she couldn't see? She was confused, unable to think of anything. "Stop wiggling. Otherwise, I won't be able to control myself anymore." Nolan mumbled, grazing the skin of her neck, making her let another soft moan. He didn't want her to stop reacting. She didn't know how to stop. The tension in the room was weighing down. Nolan pressed his member against her belly, making her squirm. She became bolder when she grabbed his hair with one head and pulled his shirt to bring him closer to her. It wasn't her intention to make such bold moves. She was merely reacting to his actions, lost in the moment. Everything had faded away. It was just a sensuous moment between a man and a woman who were deeply involved in lust and something they didn't want to name. "f**k!" Nolan groaned, cupping her cheek. He raised her face to kiss her. The kiss soon escalated into a passionate, hungry one. Nolan didn't have to wait long for Elise to respond. To her, it was more than a perfect kiss. It was full of want, desire, and sincerity. The kiss had only begun when, out of nowhere, Nolan withdrew suddenly. He stopped kissing her, leaning against her forehead, panting for air. Nolan cupped his hands against her face as he tried to control all those gushing emotions overwhelming him. He didn't want to stop! But how far can he take this inside that hotel room at their workplace? Elise was already missing the feel of Nolan's lips on her, his tongue ravishing the inner of her mouth. She didn't know what to speak or how to react. She closed her eyes, gasping for air, but wanting more, waiting for him to make a move. Nolan lifted his head to look at Elise. He didn't want to keep guessing wildly. Elise blushed when her eyes met his. They were full of so much warmth that it surprised her. Was she feeling and seeing things the way she wanted instead of what they were? Was it because she wanted it that way? Why would someone like Nolan ever be interested in her? She bit her lower lips with confusion, earning a groan from Nolan. Her actions had only tempted him more. He was controlling himself somehow. But those lips of hers were now looking inviting. He couldn't resist his desire as his mouth crashed on her plump petals. The way his tongue moved against her made her go haywire. Nolan wrapped one of his hands around her neck. He cupped her cheek with the other for proper support as he deepened their kiss, sending hot waves rippling through them from everywhere their skin touched. She pressed her hands against his muscled chest and abdomen as they continued kissing her with passion and eagerness. "Ding dong!" "Ding dong!" The two froze instantaneously! What the hell? Elise pulled herself from Nolan's clutches, making him feel the void. But it wasn't time to be reckless. "Ding Dong!" Whoever was outside was quite impatient. Elise felt terrified, shivering when she realized what she was doing. What was she going to do when they opened the door? Nolan gestured for her to keep calm. He nodded his head, trying to assure her that no matter who was outside, he would handle the situation without putting her in any problem. She wasn't very confident, but she had no other option but to trust Nolan. Ding Dong! Ding Dong! Nolan gestured for her to hide inside the washroom. Elise didn't even think twice before hiding inside the bathroom, shaking. She didn't want anyone to see her in that situation when she didn't know what she was doing there. And why? Nolan looked through the peephole. It was Gianna!
