Chapter Three

1830 Words
SCHOOL is too suffocating, and after what happened in the morning, it’s no wonder that some of my classmates are trying to suck up on me when in the past they did nothing but give me envious glasses and tell malicious comments behind my back. But why would I even bother about then? When they obviously just want to take advantage of me. Yeah, right, as if I scoff at that thought. I’m even having goosebumps trying to maintain my friendly face in front of Mika. Now that I have some alone time with myself, I can finally get rid of the nauseous feeling whenever that girl is near me. I was walking in a path pavement to go inside the huge greenhouse dome that is within the school grounds, This Academy is simply made with socializing, and letting the everyone know how grandiose, spectacular, and beautiful this place is. That’s why the school ground is composed of many amenities, from, a grand ballroom, Amphitheater, an Olympic swimming pool, a greenhouse dome, and many more that I didn’t actually bother since mostly I really didn’t care with such these. I let my eyes roamed in the open area around me, the breeze is softly blowing, as a rustle from bushes and trees, as the sun is on its peak, It wasn’t the end of the day yet, but I can’t stop myself from worrying if the next time I open my eyes, everything is not real. I thought that I can finally have my own peace when II heard, loud shouts, and curses in the corner near the incinerator, I probably should not intervene, but I’m irritated by these kinds of bullies. So I made my way, seeing a bunch of boys, beating another boy on the ground. Such, privileged boys, who have no idea about the world and only do things that that they thought that was cool which in my perspective is there ego talking, These teens, which range from fifteen to thirteen who don’t even know how to take care of themselves. Such idiots. “Teacher! Teacher!” I said in a shrill voice that even I winced on my own voice. Damn it, I probably won’t do this again. The boys clamored before they run like a mouse trying not to get caught, leaving a body behind or rather, the boy who they just ganged up beating. Is the boy dead? I can’t help but ask myself as I walked near him. His lips are bleeding and a bruise can see on the left side of his face, but he clearly made sure that he protected his head a while ago. I saw his chest in a up and down motion so he’s probably alive, but then I thought that I should just see if he is conscious or not, since he looks like a dead body to me from where I stand a while ago. So I neatly tuck my skirt under my legs, before squatting near him. He’s not moving, and I simply can’t help myself but grab the stick near me and poke him with it, just a simple precaution. With the third poke of the stick, the guy groaned, then got irritated, smacking the stick in my hand. “Oh, you’re alive,” I said casually before standing. “You do know it’s rude poking other people with a stick?” the boy said before he cursed loudly, maybe because he felt the pain being a punching bag. Seeing that he seems to be alive, I decided to go, and be on my way. Since in the first place, I don’t have any idea who he is, and who he may be so let’s just simply stick with that fact. But as soon as I tried to leave, he spoke. “Aren’t you going to help me?” he said he looks in pain but I just stand still looking at him. “I’ve already helped you, don’t try to abuse my momentary kindness.” “So you mean you're not kind?” the bot asked. I really don’t know why I even bothered with him, but here I am instead of walking away, I am now having a conversation with him. “Yes, and I am also not an i***t to let myself be a punching bag,” I said crossing my arms on my chest looking at him casually. But instead of being insulted the bot even laugh, amusement is clearly on his face. What’s even amusing to what I’ve said? I am merely stating a fact. Is there something wrong with his brain, after he was hit in the head? I can’t help but ask myself, not bothering the injured boy before me.  “Not fighting back, doesn’t mean your weak. There are just many ways to make them suffer more than I did.” I saw a devious look into his eyes, and one thing came into my mind. There is a high chance that his not as simple as I can see him. So it’s better not to get involved with him, I didn’t even bother to turn around when I heard his groans and curses to help him. Done my job, thank you, bye. That’s what is inside my heard not even bothering to know his name, and I really didn’t expect that I regret helping him in the first place. “AINA!" I already plastered my fake smile on my face as Mika, happily trudge her way near me. Of course, eyes are already on her, on us. She really likes to bathe herself with other people’s attention, it was to the point it wickedly disgusting when you notice it. Her eyes, shined brightly, giving her a widest smile, no one would have thought that beyond her angelic façade, is a narcissist, and a jealous heart. Just you wait, darling Mika, I’m putting you in your place. Mika hooked her arms around mine; I controlled myself not to recoil from her action. “You know I really want to thank you for the gifts that you’ve given me, but I think it’s not suited for me,” she said in an anxious tone. “It’s yours already, you do anything you want with it,” I said as we started to walk. It’s already lunchtime, so they decided to go to the cafeteria. “I’ll think about it,” then she changes the topic, then gazes on what I am wearing, and there it is that jealous gaze on anything that I have that she doesn’t. Not my problem. “By the way, your dress is so gorgeous, did you buy it somewhere?” “Oh, this?” is simply flip my hair on my back as I let her look at what I am wearing because in this lifetime, she will never wear this because it is mine. On past life, this dress became the reason why she manages to get close to my father. She manipulated not just my feelings, but also with my only family. Getting the strain in our relationship, simply fall apart. But it was not just Dad’s fault, because of my own shortcomings as his daughter. “It was given to me by my Dad,” Her eyes widened in a fake shock, why is this girl so plastic? If I am really a violent woman I probably strip her face off and put it on a Barbie’s face. At least there it has some kind of value. “I thought, you don’t like your Dad?” It was in the past, it was the past of the foolish, and selfish me. “I still don’t, I just thought that dress looks good on me, so I decided to wear it for today.” I don’t, and will never trust Mika again, so my private life needs to be discreet, the more they walk blindly, the more they will make mistakes. That’s the chance I am very willing to take. “Oh, it’s just that I thought you realize that a reconciliation would be good. Since you know, he’s still your father.” “You know I just don’t want to talk about him right now, or I’ll lose my appetite,” I said as I dislodge myself from her and walk to the cafeteria. I opened the two-way door, and the bustling crown greets me. One thing that I can say about this place is, massive. It can hold the capacity of the student in the whole school, as a beautiful chandelier is hanging on the ceiling, huge French windows with draperies where the school insignia was imprinted. The one thing that will probably marvel by the commoners is the different station buffet that any student can choose from for free. Of course with the huge money that was invested in this school all the amenities inside the school grounds are free for the students to use. The place Is grandiose, no one would believe that this is even a cafeteria. But unlike the other students who fall in line at the table, mine was already prepared in advance. Just like I said, Dad, gave all the luxuries that I could ever ask for to the point that he spoils me rotten, and doesn’t care about that as long as he knows that I can live comfortably. One of the waiters gave me my meal on the table I am currently seating on, while the some of the students can only look at me in envy. Just like I said, I am a queen of this campus, and as long as no one even tries to bother me in anyway, I also don’t care about them. Then in just a matter of minutes, Mika already grabs her food on the stations. She mostly cut on the line where males are present so she can let it slide, who would even reject her angelic face, right? She just gave me a smile, before they started to dig in. I eat my meal quietly, even though people usually observe for the reason that I really don’t know. Maybe because on how I carry myself with class and elegancy, I bet that not only Mika notice it but also the people around me. I really can’t get rid of this habit of mine, I know that this is not I carry myself in middle school, but it naturally came into me. So I simply let it be, to hell with those prying eyes of these kids. That’s when I notice Mika, and I can’t help but secretly sneer. She notices the looks that people are giving to me, so she simply imitate what I do, but unlike mine that was with elegancy, her imitation is too crass. She can’t even straighten her back well, without straining herself. Well, whatever, it was obvious who caught the attention of everyone. But let’s just leave on that. I will just let her realize how the two are so different from each other. Me, who has everything that I ever wanted, and her who wants to get everything that I have.
