CHAPTER 19 WELL, THIS WASN’T awkward at all. Sam sat one end of the breakfast table while I sat the other, and although we pretended not to notice each other, I could feel his eyes on me when I wasn’t looking. “What did that pineapple ever do to you?” Emmy asked, voice low.
